- JJGR+QW - Take an Introductory Stand-Up Paddleboarding Lesson in the natural beauty of the Toronto Islands. Just a 10 minute ferry ride away from downtown Toronto, you’ll find yourself immersed in nature all while having fun and learning SUP.
The lesson starts with a dry land portion where we’ll go over equipment, paddling technique, weather, and water safety. Once everyone is suited up, the small group of up to 6 people heads out into the lake with the certified Paddle Canada instructor for the lesson. There you will learn positioning on the board, paddling in a straight line, turning, balance and many other techniques to help you get the most out of the 75 minutes.

Toronto Island is the only island chain in Western Lake Ontario. It has a diverse collection of plants and wildlife, and holds deep history dating back to the first native American people. Did you know the location for Toronto, then called York, was chosen due to the prime natural harbour created by the Toronto Island, then a peninsula? Wards and Algonquin Island are some of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city and some of their ancestors are still here today.
