Excellent tour. Very friendly and welcoming. - Elisa was very knowledgable about the balsamic and the family history of the owners. Paolo, Marcello and Elisa were very friendly and their products were excellent. The lunch provided was all local products and tasted amazing. It was very interesting pairing the different balsamic to the food, especially the dessert. Their wine was very nice but it didn’t overtake or spoil the taste of the balsamic.

Terrific afternoon - Terrific experience. Met two members of the family and got to learn a lot about the process and history. Learned important facts about buying balsamic when at home. Our guide, Eliza , was FANTASTIC. Knew everything and was just a sweetheart. Loved every minute of the tour. Tasted 145 year old product. WOW!

For the love of balsamic vinegar! - The education and hospitality is excellent. They will explain how to tell the real thing from imposters. The gourmet tour samples how balsamic enhances food.

I think this was the... - I think this was the tastiest tour I did while I was in Italy. I will start by saying that Paolo is beyond kind and went out of his way to make me feel welcomed. I happened to have the luck of being the only person that booked the tour at that time, so I had a private tasting and it was awesome. The acetaia was beautiful and you could immediately tell how much love and passion have been put into this estate over the past generations. This is a small family business and you won't taste this delicious balsamic vinegar anywhere else. They also served their own Lambrusco wine which was the best. I would totally do this tour again! Afterwards, Paolo even called me a taxi since I took public transportation out there and there wasn't a bus back for a few hours. This is the type of business you think of when you imagine one in the Italian countryside: small, family run and just beautiful in every way. You won't regret this tour or supporting this amazing family.

We booked this last... - We booked this last minute and had the most wonderful time. It was so fun to learn the history of the family’s balsamic and get to try so many different ones! It was one of our favorite experiences in Italy it’s hard to even put into words how wonderful it was!

Informative and fun tour and tasting. - This is an amazing tour. We met our tour guide, Elisa, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. We also met the owner and his sons. The owner is the 5th (?) generation of owner / operators. They explained how traditional balsamic is made, and why most of the balsamic vinegar in the market is not authentic. They finished the tour by providing a tasting menu of their own wine, some local cured meats and cheeses, and how they pair with different types and ages of balsamic vinegar. A great experience, beautiful setting, and fabulous people.

Super interesting, relaxed and above all: enjoy! - We are extremely warmly received by 6th generation owner Marcello and guide Eliza on the beautiful domain of Antica Acetaia Cavedoni where they have proudly immersed us in the world of Balsamic. And it is unexpectedly interesting: a world opens up for you that you have absolutely no knowledge of until you see it with your own eyes. What an effort, endless patience and love is put into tons of hand-picked grapes to make just a few bottles of real Balsamic! Then you will understand why it is called ‘liquid gold’. For ‘foodies’ we can highly recommend the gourmet tour: the tour of the barrels ended with a great tasting. Everything the region is known for (local bread, prosciutto, mortadella, salami and various Parmeggianos) was tasted in combination with condimenti (‘balsamics’ too young to be called Balsamic) and real Balsamics, from ‘young’ (12 years) to much older. All in a super relaxed family Mood, with love, attention and plenty of time to enjoy. We really had a fantastic afternoon there, and plan to definitely come back again, with friends. Finally: super nice was also that our dog was allowed to come along - you sometimes see that differently.

Very good tour - We visited this place last minute after reading reviews. I have always purchased balsamic vinegar from Modena so it was great to see how it was made and where it came from. We didn't go on a detailed tour of the vineyard itself, it would have been nice to do so, but it was hot, so we saw the barrels and learned about the process and business. The tasting was also quite good. The price they quoted was less than what is promoted by third parties. However, there was no spread like the reviews mention here like cheeses, meats, dessert, etc. We had their wine and balsamic vinegar tasting, that was all, probably due to a last minute booking. We didn't mind, but we did come expecting the bells and whistles mentioned here! Overall, it was a very good tour and the highlight of our day. I highly recommend it.
