HCM Cooking School excellent an a fun day out of Saigon - This was a great experience from beginning to end, It was very informative not just about Vietnamese cooking but also about the ingredients in the fields which go to make the food so delicious, We enjoyed the trip out to to countryside with our small group, the amazing authentic market visit, the foraging on the organic farm and then the cooking experience itself. It was simple and easy to follow and very well organised. My husband who is not a cook, was dubious before we set off but had a very enjoyable day. Thank you Alice and HCM Cooking

Inspiring & authentic experince - 10/10 would definitely book again! Thanks to Linh we had a great time walking through the local market, picking our own ingredients in the garden and cooking them under nicely communicated guidance. It was great fun to prepare local dishes! Not only am I taking home a nice certificate, but also the heart warming experiences of this class!

Fantastic cooking class and experience! - I would 100% recommend doing this cooking class experience!! First stop of the day, our guide Aura took us to an authentic market (no tourists were there, for locals) and it was a completely different experience full of fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables plus more. We then arrived at the HCM cooking class place and Aura took us around the farm land to pick all the vegetables and ingredients we would need to complete the recipes which was amazing to know what we picked the ingredients and they were super fresh! We made each course with support and guidance from Aura then we were able to sit together and enjoy what we made. All the food looked and tasted incredible, so much so I had to buy the recipe book to make them again when I get home. All the staff at the cooking class were so friendly, especially Aura who was with us for the day. She was so knowledgeable, kind and was keen to get us involved in every part of the day. I would definitely recommend doing this cooking class experience to get a authentic wholesome Vietnamese experience!

Possibly the best cooking class I’ve done so far! - Before we began our cooking class, we were invited to go through the gardens and pick our ingredients. This was an amazing touch as we got to learn about the ingredients we were about to use, and it was more fun than just being told about them. The class itself was such a great introduction into Vietnamese cooking, and our guide was perfect at explaining the importance of each ingredient and how to create a balance. What I really enjoyed about this class was the fact you got to eat each course after cooking it, as opposed to cooking everything at once and eating it all together. This allowed you to appreciate each dish and the amazing flavours. Each guest has their own station and got to be involved in every step of the cook, which is not always the case. I would 100% recommend this to anyone and I’m definitely going to try these recipes at home.

THE BEST! - This cooking class with Huy was one of the best experiences we had while visiting Vietnam! He was so knowledgeable on all the different types of fruits, vegetables, and foods not only on the farm but at the local market as well! Any fruit that we had never tried before he bought so that we could have a taste. The custard apple was our favorite!!! The cooking class was so informative and the dishes we made we delicious! The recipes were so easy, we're definitely looking forward to recreating them at home in the US! If you love cooking, this class is for you!

Wonderful day learning to cook Vietnamese dishes! - The day started with Huy meeting me in my hotel lobby and then having a car pick us up to go to a local market on the outskirts of the city. He was with me throughout the day from the market, to the farm and then the cooking lesson. Every part of this experience was unique and interesting, made more so by Huy's knowledge and willingness to explain and answer questions. I highly recommend this if you enjoy cooking or just want to have a fun experience outside of the usual touristic spots. And if you get Huy as your teacher I guarantee you will have a great time!

Incredible day that won’t be forgotten soon. - From pick up to drop off, we had a fantastic time. I’d like to specifically thank Rose for making our day particularly awesome. A cool girl, with some great knowledge! (Your English is amazing too!) The cooking class and particularly the garden tour was incredible. Chef Tan was an interesting person, who’s set up a very well run business. Excited to visit his Bankstown Venue. The Cu Chi tunnels were also both frightening and fascinating in equal measures, Rose’s knowledge really impressed us both. Especially the enthusiasm to jump into the tunnels! Grateful, and hope to see you soon! Ryan & Blythe

A must do!! - Having tried many other cooking classes in different countries, I found this to be one of the best. Our guide Rose was excellent, very informative and patient. The class was great, after picking our own ingredients on their farm we were shown some simple and delicious meals we can easily cook at home. Overall a fantastic day out

Not recommended - Not as expected. We agreed on several dishes in advance and were offered the option of paying with cash or credit card on site. The dishes were not as expected. We made an egg coffee that had nothing to do with the original. For vegetarians, everything is cooked with "fake meat", which we personally didn't like, and it also had a really unpleasant consistency. We personally would have preferred tofu. We also couldn't pay with a credit card, which was very unpleasant in the end because we had to withdraw money again. There were four of us in the group at the beginning and after about 2 hours the room was completely full with another large group. It then became very loud and it was no longer so pleasant. We also had the feeling that our cooking class was being rushed. There were also 2 chefs with us at one point who were talking to one of us at the same time, which really spoiled the experience. In retrospect, we wouldn't do this cooking class again. You get a printout of the recipes you cooked, some of which didn't match the ingredients used in the course (fish sauce in the course and soy sauce in the recipe printout). You can also buy a recipe book on site for $10, but this is not included in the course fee. P.S. The journey takes 1.5 hours to the location and about 2 hours back because of the traffic. That wasn't obvious at the beginning either.
