Highlights
  • Ludlow Tuart Forest National Park - The Ludlow Tuart Forest offers a scenic drive as you approach Busselton town.
  • Busselton - Once a seaside timber port, Busselton has evolved into a bustling regional hub and popular holiday spot. It has grown significantly into a major country town in the southwest. A visit to the Jetty is essential. The Train & Underwater Observatory tour lasts 2 hours. Consider whether a brief 25-minute photo stop is sufficient, as time on this tour is valuable.
  • Ngilgi Cave Ancient Lands Experience - There are several impressive caves to explore, with Ngilgi Cave being one of them. Due to the travel distances in the region, caves south of Margaret River (Lake, Jewel & Mammoth) are generally avoided, especially if the full Busselton Jetty/Underwater Observatory tour is included in the day. Time constraints simply don’t allow for both Jetty and Cave tours. A very brief photo stop at the Busselton Jetty is an option if Jewel, Lake, or Mammoth Cave interests you.
  • Canal Rocks - One of the many stunning coastal options in the Margaret River region, the Canal Rocks boardwalk takes you over rushing tidal waters of an incredibly deep blue. The entire coastline features breathtaking beaches and dramatic rock faces.
  • Vasse Felix Winery - The oldest winery in the region, boasting an excellent cellar and restaurant. Lunch and tastings can take up to 2 hours, so consider whether this is a highlight, a brief stop, or if you don’t drink, not a stop at all. There are many other excellent wineries in the region. If wine is your main focus, you can expect to visit 4-6 wineries on this day tour. Contact me to discuss this option specifically.
  • Cowaramup - Locally known as “Cowie” or “Cowtown,” this quirky little town holds a Guinness World Record for the most people wearing cow onesies. An excellent chocolate stop at Temper Temper.
  • Margaret River - Margaret River is a town, a river, and a region. This tour focuses on a triangle between Busselton, Cape Naturaliste, and Margaret River. With over 140 cellar doors in the region, it’s the wine that people know Margaret River for, but there’s much more than just the township and viticulture. The region also boasts amazing diversity in landscape and coastline, with dazzling beaches and beautiful forest drives. Little townships with their own unique appeal, chocolatiers, nougat, and wonderful food.

Additional Information

This private day tour takes you on a journey through some of the most beautiful countryside in Australia. Locals go for the Region, not the Margaret River township.

There are many Attractions, Wineries, Breweries, Caves, Forest drives and stunningly beautiful beaches in the region and I will guide you to places that suit your taste.

Margaret Rivers wineries are internationally celebrated and it is one of the most environmentally diverse regions in the world.

The township of Margaret River is approximately four hours south of Perth and for many this sounds like a challenging drive. I include stops along the way which are historical, cultural, naturally beautiful, local and fun!

Specially selected small country towns and locations are chosen for the unique characteristics which make them stand out from the ordinary.

The tour can be customised to include your special interests and offers the experience that suits you.

**Not all options listed in the itinerary are possible.

An eye opening experience - Peter, our guide was very nice and friendly. He provided us with a lot of interesting knowledge of the places we went. He took us to a beach, a nice restaurant, the seaside and a lot of other interesting and fun places. The restaurant he took us to for lunch had delicious food. Our family had 2 children - my sister and I love the restaurant as it had a playground and delicious ice cream. My parents also enjoyed the restaurant as there was a place for wine tasting. Before lunch, Peter drove us to a beautiful beach. We had a lot of fun at the beach. It was a lovely thing to do as cool ocean water helped us cool down in the hot February weather!! It was constantly close to 40 degrees celsius almost daily. There chocolate store he took us to was also great as the chocolate there was so yummy. We also saw kangaroos and cows on the way, and we also saw a lot of beautiful sights. Overall it was an amazing day tour. My parents, my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip! The places Peter showed us were great and we wouldn’t have been able to explore these places without him taking us there. As a conclusion, I think the tour is a great eye opening experience for both kids and adults. I fully recommend this tour to people who wants to see and explore the Margaret river area. And I know my parents and my sister think the same way!

Fantastic opportunity to do Margaret River in one day - Peter Cope of Perths Tiny Tours runs a terrific one day private tour of the Margaret River area. It is a long and tiring day but well worth it for anyone who wants to see the area and only has one day to spend. We got to 2 good wineries, 2 gorgeous beaches, a great small town with some neat stores and we got to see some local art and a bunch of kangaroos. Peter is very experienced, a great driver and an energetic, knowledgeable and friendly guide.

2 days Busselton, Margaret River, Augusta - Peter is knowledgeable, clever and funny, so fun to travel with. He’s shown us interesting places which we otherwise wouldn’t have been to if we were to self-drive or with a large tour group. I like it that he’s flexible with guiding us based on the existing weather conditions and what each of us likes, stopping or detouring to take a closer look at animals etc. 100% recommend!

Fantastic Margaret River Private Trip from Perth Tiny Tours - Peter, the guide, is fantastic! He is patient and has great local knowledge. We have absolute fun visiting Busselton, lighthouse and Ngigli cave, before our wine tasting. Wine is great, and the lunch platter is yummy! We truly enjoyed this Margaret River private trip. In fact, we have even booked 2 more trips from Peter : Perth / Fremantle and the Pinnacles.

A wine tour and more - My wife and I recently spent two days touring the Margaret River region with Peter and had an outstanding experience. We went for the wine, and we had outstanding wine tasting experiences, but Peter also showed us many interesting sights along the drive from Perth and around Margs. Peter organized our tour around our interests and showed us many places we would not have found on our own. We overnighted in Dunsborough, had time to walk on the beach and had an outstanding dinner at Blue Manna Bistro. There was a lot to see, and we kept moving, but didn’t feel rushed. The ⁨Leeuwin-Naturaliste coastline is beautiful, and Peter knows the best places to stop. Peter is knowledgeable and lots of fun too. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

A great day tailored to fit my travel plans. - Having been badly let down when the three day trip to Margaret River paid for in a package was suddenly withdrawn I was delighted to find Peter and his Tiny Tours. He put together a one day itinerary that enabled me to see so much of the area - Cape Leeuwin, Margaret River, Busselton, wineries, chocolate, kangaroos and little out of the way places. Peter was great company and was able to impart much information about the region. We accomplished so much in 12 hours. Thoroughly recommend Peter and his tours to anyone wanted a personalised experience.

Fantastic Day - Had an amazing and unforgettable day trip from Perth to the Margaret River region. Peter was a great guide, extremely knowledgeable, very comfortable to be with, a safe professional driver & all round great guy. I wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip or recommend to others. We managed to fit a lot into one day which wouldn’t have been possible had we hired a car and drove ourselves. If you’re contemplating booking - just do it. Thanks Peter hopefully we’ll see you again soon 👌

Fantastic Margaret River Tour - A fanstatic tour with Peter. He went above and beyond to enure the entire group had an amazing experience. This included Busselton Jetty, Lunch at Vasse Felix, stops at two wineries (Juniper, Grace Farm ), Temper Temper chocolate shop (Cowaramup), The Providores, Margaret River Mouth and Canal Rocks). He timed everything to perfection to ensure we got the most from the day. In addition, he made sure each of group member's needs were addressed, for example, he made a diversion so we could see Kangaroos and also ensure that the non-drinker was kept entertained during the wine tasting with a walk to see wild flowers. He also made an improptu pit stop, so that the gin lover could pick-up a gin. This was a five star tour. I would strongly recommend Tiny Tours and we will be sure to book again when we are next back in Perth.

Excellent and outstanding tour of the Margaret River region! - I had a great day with Peter exploring the Margaret River region. I learned a lot about the history of some of the towns along the way. He showed me where the Margaret River starts from and where it eventually dumps into the Indian Ocean. The reason why I choose this tour is that I wanted to see everything I could possibly see in the allotted amount of time. All of the other small group tours that ran from Perth had too much wasted time for me. For example I didn’t want to waste an hour or more eating a meal. We just picked up something and kept going. Peter was a very knowledgable tour guide and I would highly recommend him.
