A real highlight of our Ireland trip - We all (including teens) absolutely loved visiting Bunratty Castle! We went through the park first which was so interesting and the employees taught us a lot about each aspect of life during the time. The animals were fun, sandwiches there were good, and the playground was very popular. Watch the time as the castle closes earlier than the park and you don't want to miss the castle itself. The castle looks like it would have back then and really gets you imagining life as it was. We all had fun climbing all the stairs and finding all the rooms. Some of the stairwells were very narrow - 1 at a time so try to avoid crowded times. We had a blast there and I'd recommend it to everybody.

Nice museum - This castle is fun to visit and there is an open-air museum. It's fine for an afternoon, even if it rains. Children will definitely like this and the dog can come inside

Historical Recreation - A very interesting recreation of early life showcasing the key differences between the lives of those that were poor and those that were rich. The castle is an amazing cornerstone of the park, but is just a small part of what is included. Definitely recommended for those interested in history or those interested in viewing life as it used to be. The people working here are very friendly and are happy to provide detailed explanations of what you are seeing.

Not sure if any advantage on this one. - We arrived and they didn't have our tickets. I am not sure what the "skip the lines" is about. We never experienced this ..or everyone else had it as well. The place is worth visiting. But don't fall for the "Skip the Line" part

Was a little disappointing. - After Dublin Castle and Kilkenny Castle, this castle was a bit disappointing. And tour of the castle is a challenge. The different floors could be accessed via very narrow steps. Not bad in itself, but it is if everyone has to use the same staircase both up and down. In our case, it was also very crowded, which regularly caused annoying congestion, because you could barely pass each other on the stairs. The spaces really had the castle feel, but a bit shabby. The Folk Park was nice; kind of a small open-air museum in the atmosphere as it used to be.

quando si dice soldi sprecati! - My wife and I arrived at about 3pm on July 16, so away from the morning "peak" and lunch break. Well, we saw a costumed figure at the entrance and two women managing the accesses to the tower (with long waits due to the presence of some groups). Nessun altro!!! No musicians, no "craftsmen at the opera"... just a few of the shop assistants were wearing costumes. To say the least spectacularly useless the presence of a woman who should have tried her hand at cooking but limited herself to showing a patch of cheese from which the whey was dripping. They gave us a map in Italian that, after the castle, reported descriptions "random" and different from the numbering (if I remember correctly the school corresponded to a farmer's house) and from there on we continued haphazardly, so there would be no difference... Finally, I mention the disgusting "experience" in one of the bathrooms: from the outside you could see the classic "wet floor" sign but, as soon as I entered, I was overwhelmed by a stench of urine (sorry, but that's right!) and a flutter of flies that made me exclaim "did you plant that sign two years ago?". As close to the highway as it is, this place is absolutely NOT worth a stop, let alone the waste of ticket money. Side note: the online ticket costs 17.05 euros but on the site they do not warn that at the box office it costs over two euros more.

Medieval Disneyland - Unfortunately, this felt like the quintessential tourist trap, especially after having spent time at other castle ruins in the area. Alarm bells were going off for me as soon as we entered the area, but we were desperate for a break from driving and had read multiple tour books/online guides recommending it with kids. But our 10, 12, and 14 year olds were ready to leave almost immediately after entering. It had the feel of a scaled-down medieval Disney Land.
