Absolute recommendation - It was a great and educational experience. The leader of the small course was very friendly and introduced us to the world of teas in Japan. She spoke super English, which made it a lot easier for us to understand. It was very delicious and the shop was also very nice. Best regards and thank you again for this great experience! Sincerely, Elena and Oliver

A Great, Modern Way to Experience Japanese Tea Culture - We enjoyed this tea ceremony very much! We not only got to taste 4 different types of teas, but we also got to learn the history and significance of each at the same time. We were actively involved in the ceremony, pouring our own water and mixing our own matcha. This was a modern tea ceremony, so you're sitting at a table and have your shoes on. It was great to experience this tea ceremony to better understand Japanese culture.

A Great Tea-Making and Tasting Experience with a Gracious Hostess - My boyfriend and I wanted a tea ceremony experience, and Ocharu definitely delivered. We had such a wonderful time learning about the history and tradition of tea in Japan and of the individual teas we got to try. Our hostess was really lovely with a calm, knowledgeable energy as she explained to us in English the different temperatures of the tea, how they were drank and what with, and the past and present traditions. The teas themselves were a delightful experience and the shop downstairs provided everything we needed to take the teas home with us and recreate our experience. She taught us how to make matcha and drink it properly, something we have tried again and again at home since and really enjoyed. I highly recommend coming to Ocharu to learn more about Japanese tea making and enjoy some wonderful teas. Thank you for your hard work!

Excellent tea ceremony - Must see and do. - Excellent. The tea ceremony was fabulous. Our tea master was fun (whilst being respectful of tradition) and knowledgeable and made the experience come alive. The group size was just right and didn't distract from the experience. This is a must see and do if coming to Tokyo. We really enjoyed it.

Fantastic introduction into traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony - The tea master was very friendly and patient and spoke English really well. We tried 4 different teas, learned about history and the process of tea making and we also got to make our own matcha. At the end we were also able to buy equipment as well. Definitely recommend.

Not what we expected. - This is NOT the tea ceremony you are expecting. It is more a lesson on how to make matcha. If you expected to get a geisha like woman making you tea while you sat on floor, wrong program.

Very disappointing tour - This was not a tea ceremony, this was a tea tasting. The woman who lead this tour did not speak English. We had to read everything off a screen. Very disappointed in the whole tour and I believe that they should refund us the cost of the tour. I requested an English speaking tour and they agreed. I did not get what they agreed to.
