Plenty of mochi and a very kind teacher - Yuko was a very talented teacher and she explained some of the history and traditions of mochi in Japan. Her cooking studio overlooks greenery which is very beautiful. We made many different types of mochi, nerikiri and dango. Yuko spoke English well enough that we could learn without being able to speak Japanese. She also served us macha tea and we had a little tea ceremony at the end.

A sweet break from walking - My twelve year old daughter and I took this class and loved it. Yuko speaks very clear English and gave excellent instructions. Our finished product didn't look quite as good as hers, but we were still very proud of what we made! I think this activity is well worth the time. We'll be looking for the ingredients so we can make more at home.

Highlight of our trip to Japan! - My friends and I had SUCH a wonderful experience learning to make wagashi with Yuko in her lovely home! We learned how to make 4 types of nerikiri as well as sakuramochi while looking out at the beautiful cherry blossoms along the river. Yuko was a great and patient instructor who humored us even when we, as a group of artists, went a little off the rails from the traditional designs. We'd recommend this class to anyone visiting Tokyo!

We learned a lot of interesting things about the culture, together with the recipes for traditional Japanese sweets. Yuko-san was a very professional teacher and a wonderful and warm hearted person Would definitely recommend the experience for everyone visiting Japan.

Real Japanese experience - We had a great experience of making Mochi. This class is really great since it is just one table and the teacher, Yuko, who takes her time to explain you how to make Mochi and Wagashi. I really preferred this small atmosphere compared to other large classes where you can easily lack behind. Yuko also did a tea ceremony with us and explained us the ritual. Then, we took some pictures with our Mochi and Yuko. At the end, we got containers and packing provided for our Mochi so we could bring them back to our hotel.
I definitely recommend this workshop for people who want to have a real Japanese experience.

Excellent and authentic mochi making class - Yuko is a very kind and welcoming host. She took a lot of time to show me different kinds of mochi making step by step which I could imitate resulting into my own delicious mochi's. Her explanations about the ingredients, japanese traditions related to mochi and the making process were very interesting. Yuko came up with some really cute seasonal Halloween and autumn designs as well as traditional and modern style mochi. As we actually cooked in her family's home, the whole atmosphere was uniquely authentic. After cooking, we drank some matcha tea together and tasted some mochi. They were excellent! All in all, I would strongly recommend this class to everyone who enjoys cooking/baking!

Fun, relaxed and authentic Japanese sweets lesson - I had a lovely time making these Japanese treats. There’s a few to make and many different skills to learn so it was fun and interesting. I felt very welcome and it was a 1:1 lesson. The location was easy to find and nearby the metro, I would totally recommend this as an interesting and authentic activity whilst visiting Japan! Thank you!! 😊

I had an excellent... - I had an excellent private class with Yuko-san. After an overview of traditional Japanese sweets, I have learned different techniques for some of them. This is a hands-on class where you get to do the sweets yourself while your instructor gives you constant feedback. This is not a generic nor group class, Yuko-san is very generous of her time and comments.

Amazing mochi making experience with the kindest teacher! - Yuko was so kind and patient with us, and a wonderful guide through the art and process of creating Mochi. Yuko is very informative on the techniques, but what adds to the experience are the conversations about the cultural connection of mochi to traditions. Add to this the beautiful surroundings of the home and vista, and it made for a very memorable experience. We highly recommend!
