Amazing Japanese sweets class - Our experience with Yuko’s watch class was outstanding. Yuko was in contact with us early on to make sure that we knew how to get to her class. She greeted us at the door and treated us like family in her amazing kitchen and dining room. My daughter and I loved her class and learned so much. She explained the history of making Japanese sweets before starting the process with us. We made so many sweets. Yuko made things so straightforward and easy. Yuko prepared so well for the class that we were able to participate in the fun and instructive parts without wasting any time. We made so many beautiful sweets such as a sunflower-shaped aweet l and watermelon and pineapple mochi. Yuko is an amazing maker of wagazhi, and her refrigerator is full of her beautiful creations. The class was easy to find on public transportation, too. If you are looking for something fun and meaningful and authentically Japanese to do when you are traveling to Tokyo, go to this class.

A Truly Unforgettable Experience – Heartfelt Thanks to Yuko! - Wow—this was truly one of the most special experiences our family could have hoped for! Words can hardly capture the warmth, care, and attention to detail that Yuko brought to every moment of our time with her. Her hospitality went above and beyond, turning this session into an unforgettable memory for our family of five. Our kids, absolutely loved it. Yuko guided them through each step with such patience and calmness, making everything easy to follow and full of joy. Her gentle encouragement and thoughtful instruction made a lasting impression. We created a wonderful variety of traditional Japanese desserts (Wagashi)—from the colorful Sanshoku Dango (three-colored dango) to Fruit Daifuku (fruit mochi), soft and chewy Warabi Mochi, and finally ended with a perfectly whisked cup of matcha tea. It far exceeded our expectations in every way. We are so grateful to Yuko for welcoming us into her home and kitchen, for sharing her knowledge and time, and for making us feel like part of her family. It truly felt like a home away from home—and a memory we’ll treasure forever!!

Plenty of mochi and a very kind teacher - Yuko was a very talented teacher and she explained some of the history and traditions of mochi in Japan. Her cooking studio overlooks greenery which is very beautiful. We made many different types of mochi, nerikiri and dango. Yuko spoke English well enough that we could learn without being able to speak Japanese. She also served us macha tea and we had a little tea ceremony at the end.

A sweet break from walking - My twelve year old daughter and I took this class and loved it. Yuko speaks very clear English and gave excellent instructions. Our finished product didn't look quite as good as hers, but we were still very proud of what we made! I think this activity is well worth the time. We'll be looking for the ingredients so we can make more at home.

Highlight of our trip to Japan! - My friends and I had SUCH a wonderful experience learning to make wagashi with Yuko in her lovely home! We learned how to make 4 types of nerikiri as well as sakuramochi while looking out at the beautiful cherry blossoms along the river. Yuko was a great and patient instructor who humored us even when we, as a group of artists, went a little off the rails from the traditional designs. We'd recommend this class to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Real Japanese experience - We had a great experience of making Mochi. This class is really great since it is just one table and the teacher, Yuko, who takes her time to explain you how to make Mochi and Wagashi. I really preferred this small atmosphere compared to other large classes where you can easily lack behind. Yuko also did a tea ceremony with us and explained us the ritual. Then, we took some pictures with our Mochi and Yuko. At the end, we got containers and packing provided for our Mochi so we could bring them back to our hotel. I definitely recommend this workshop for people who want to have a real Japanese experience.

Excellent and authentic mochi making class - Yuko is a very kind and welcoming host. She took a lot of time to show me different kinds of mochi making step by step which I could imitate resulting into my own delicious mochi's. Her explanations about the ingredients, japanese traditions related to mochi and the making process were very interesting. Yuko came up with some really cute seasonal Halloween and autumn designs as well as traditional and modern style mochi. As we actually cooked in her family's home, the whole atmosphere was uniquely authentic. After cooking, we drank some matcha tea together and tasted some mochi. They were excellent! All in all, I would strongly recommend this class to everyone who enjoys cooking/baking!
