- Buzludzha Monument - Highlighted as one of the Most Beautiful Abandoned Places in the World! Initially constructed as a Bulgarian Communist Party Assembly Hall in 1974, this UFO-like edifice has been deserted for decades, drawing hundreds of photographers and adventurers annually. Construction began in 1974 and spanned seven years, involving around 6,000 workers and the removal of over 15,000 cubic meters of rock. The project cost exceeded 35,000,000 US Dollars. Following the end of the communist era in Bulgaria in 1989, the monument was abandoned and has been gradually deteriorating. The building is no longer under the management of the Bulgarian government or any entity and is closed to the public due to safety concerns.
