This hike takes us through the beautiful Wanale Ranges, part of the Nkokonjeru arm – a 25km long tongue of lava that flowed out of the side of the volcano. We will experience an awe-inspiring hike as we go through breathtaking fauna and flora, petrified wood, caves, waterfalls, rock formations and swim in the pool of virginity as a reward for a challenging trek. Beware of throwing a stone into the Nabuyonga stream – local folklore claims that if you do so, a thunderstorm will strike you before you leave. We later head towards our campsite.
