Great overview of the theater! - It is a nice and quick way to see the theater if you don't have a chance to see an opera or ballet there (most tickets are held by members and the rest sold out very fast around February for the entire season). The guide will tell you about the history of the theater, its architecture, construction and acoustics, and you get to sit in one of the boxes for a while to take it all in.

Worth the Visit! - It was a beautiful theatre with so much history! We were able to see a rehearsal of Aida, which was an extra special treat! Our guide was knowledgable and ensured all questions were answered!

Misleading additional information - As I have read in other reviews this is not a small group tour which is definitely stated in additional information as a maximum of 15 guests. There were approximately 50 people in our group. I still have the paper copy i printed of my original booking which states the above regardless of the operators reply. This statement needs to be amended in the additional information section as it is one of the reasons I booked this tour. I had no problem receiving the tickets by email the day prior as the operator states. Regardless of the larger than expected group my wife and I still enjoyed the tour and I would still recommend if you would like to see the theatre. The tickets can be purchased much cheaper at the theatre but you run the risk of the tour being sold out prior.

Unacceptable! - According to our client, the experience itself was not bad, but we will never use this vendor again! The day we were supposed to be emaile3d the tickets, they communicated to us with a change in schedule. Both I (the travel agent) and our client, who was already in Buenos Aires, tried to connect with the vendor to confirm a new time for hours, from morning till evening without any type of reply! Even Viator tried to connect and could not! We tried email, they would not answer their phones, even their Whatsapp number! It was not until almost midnight the day prior to the tour that they connected with the client. This is simply unacceptable!

Theater tour in full darkness - We were shown the foyer, the stairway, the bust gallery of composers with a brief lecture on the history of the theater. Our English group had about 40 people from various countries, some people were handicapped. All were eager to climb stairs in order to see the magical opera house.
Finally we were allowed to enter the main thing and sit on a balcony with the view of the stage and all seven levels of the theater seats plus the famous ceiling. Because of the new season preparations we were told to keep quiet to allow the theater audio tests.
Well, we expected to be able to see the famous interior which means having at least some illumination. Instead we were sitting for 15 minutes in darkness and then told to leave.
Our tour was ruined but nobody apologized. The tour guide said that the new season preparation is always a priority.
It was not a power outage, the first floor cafe and ticket office had lights.
It is an unbelievable disregard of tour visitors. Shame on Teatro Colon and tour organizers.

Theatre Colin - First booking cancelled because of a demonstration. The staff at the theatre Colon said there was no demonstration. Time was changed, e-tickets couldn’t be opened and then ‘disappeared’ from email. They were twice the cost of official tickets. We believe we were scammed.

Theater tour in full darkness - Our tour started as expected. We were shown the stairway, a foyer, and a bust gallery before we were allowed to take balcony seats in the theater itself. We were asked to keep quiet because theater technicians were doing some tests. Our English group had people from many far away countries including some handicapped people who were eager to climb stairs in order to see the magic opera house.
We were sitting on the balcony in full darkness for 10-15 min and then asked to leave!? Somebody on the scene was working with flashlights, but the theater was dark and we could see nothing.
Nobody explained or apologized for the ruined tour. Nobody cancelled following tours. The tour guide said: " La Scala has occasionally their problems too."
Some visitors demanded their money back, though I do not know if they got them. The tour was $46,not free.
What happened is an unbelievable disregard to guided tour visitors. Shame on the Theater Colon management and tour organizers!
