Great Vibes and Best Place to Learn Kitesurfing - Kite Buen Hombre is a true hidden gem in the Dominican Republic. It’s remote, not touristy, and full of old style Caribbean charm. The whole place has a cool family atmosphere, interesting people, and a great, relaxed vibe. The kite conditions are perfect for learning — flat water, shallow areas where you can stand, and good wind. The teachers are patient, friendly, and know what they’re doing. Everyone makes you feel welcome from day one. On no wind days we went out on the boat wake boarding. There are also hiking opportunities in the area. If you are looking for authentic Caribbean vibe, fun people, and great conditions, this is the place!

KBH - Amazing! - This was my first trip to the DR and I went to Buen Hombre to kite with my son. KBH was a paradise for me: a combination of beautiful landscape, a low level of development, great support from the KBH kite club, and a really nice, uncrowded, reef-protected area to kite in. We did a downwinder to the west that I will never forget - beautiful flat water areas and amazing mangroves. The family atmosphere and amazing staff at KBH made the trip so much fun; they took care of everything, so we just needed to relax and kite. This is not the place for you if you need high-end luxury, but absolutely is if you are adventurous and like to get off the beaten path.

Perfect surf, great food, warm hospitality - We spent a full week in Buen Hombres, and it was a truly memorable experience. Our 9-year-old learned how to surf, which was absolutely amazing – the instruction was calm, encouraging, and very professional. Our host was awesome – incredibly friendly, caring, and always helpful. We felt welcome and well taken care of from the very beginning. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of local flavor – every meal was a highlight on its own. Buen Hombres is a perfect place if you’re looking for an authentic atmosphere, warm hospitality, and great surfing conditions. We left with wonderful memories and would definitely love to come back. 🌊☀️

Best kept secret in the DR - I love Kite Buen Hombre and everyone here. Whenever I come to the Dominican Republic, I make sure I stay here and practice kite. It is away from all the hustle of the main cities and away from the crowds in Cabarete. You get the best flat water and amazing wind to kite and the the beautiful empty beach all to yourself. You get the real feeling of what it is like living with the locals in the DR. I love staying at the little bungalows and hanging out with all the guests all day. The hosts Riin, Helen and Micky are the most amazing. They made sure everything is running smoothly and everyone is happy. Whenever I come here, I truely feel relaxed and blessed that I’m at the best place with the best people! I can’t wait to come back here again soon!

Experience of a Lifetime!!! You must go!!! 10/10 - Buen Hombre is the place of dreams! YOU MUST GO AND EXPERICNCE THIS MAGIC!!!! :D Buen Hombre has the best conditions that I have found in all of the DR! It's got shallow flat water protected by reef, the strongest wind and beautiful sandy beaches with amazing scenery. When the rest of the country has no wind somehow, there will still be wind in BH. This is because of its unique microclimate and geographical location, seriously this place is PRIMED for SENDING! The downwinders they offer are the best I have ever experienced. You will be telling all of your kite buddies about how you downwinded from a small sandy island surrounded by coral reef back to the kite camp for a delicious homemade family style dinner after snorkeling The accommodations are fantastic, they create a raw rustic vibe that is authentic and immersive while still ensuring it is a comfortable & relaxing experience. Riin, Miky, Helen, and Julian are absolutely amazing people. They are family to us. Miky instructed my girlfriend who had no kite boarding experience prior to this trip... on the second day she was riding in both directions and was able to make progress upwind. Amazing instruction and she had a blast the whole time. I heard they call this phenomenon the "Miky Special". We love Buen Hombre and we know you will to! A relaxing kite surfing vacation at Buen Hombre! - I spent the week of Thanksgiving in the Dominican Republic and a couple of days at Buen Hombre with Kite Buen Hombre. I took supervised practice hours with the Kite Buen Hombre team (using their gear) and everyone was super helpful. The kite spot is indeed beginner friendly with mainly shallow, flat water and side on-shore wind. Booties are required as there are rocks. The camp is right by the beach and provides everything needed for a great kitesurfing vacation, including hammocks to relax in-between sessions. Many thanks to the wonderful Kite Buen Hombre team! Keep up the good work.

Ridiculous prices and outrageous operator - Buen Hombre Beach is really a nice place for kiters (not foilers) and people looking for untouched nature away from the crowded pitches. And that's why camp is such a terrible place. The owner wants to sell everything from a single source (transport, accommodation, boat trips, kiting and much more) and that also has a reason. It costs double to triple with her. There are many small, beautiful restaurants right on the beach with local good cuisine and local prices. The camp supply, which is partly cooked by Volontiers, costs 3 times and is cooked for everyone at the same time. Directly on the beach with funny and friendly people, a large cold beer costs 200 peso- in the camp a small warm 300 peso, as an example. The atmosphere in the camp is artificially familiar. There is constantly bad talk about the competition as well as the locals. If you talk to one of you at the booth, you will be approached and obeyed directly. In retrospect, we deeply regret that we did not realize our experiences faster. Another resident of the camp made it much smarter and moved to a wonderful hotel also on the beach. There were private showers in the room with hot water at half the price. The hotel is much more well maintained and run by a socially engaged loving woman. As described in other comments, however, he was subsequently ostracized on the beach by the owner because she considers the public beach hers. The camp is suitable for people who want to present a wildlife style but need all inclusive. However, this gap must also be paid for. For travelers who don't feel like it, there is a friendly alternative next door. I'm afraid we understood too late. The former teachers of Riin a long time ago.
