Fantastic!! - Absolutely fantastic experience! We were picked up and driven to the hotel and served tea when we arrived. The knivmaker was professional and fun, and we got two great knives with our initials, which we have been making ourselves! Highly recommended!!

Great experience - I never write reviews, but I wanted to shout out this experience and also my guide Roshan who was amazing!! Really cool experience. I think there are quite a few cheesy knife making workshops around but this one was in a true master blacksmith house with old school equipment and homemade tools.

Brilliant khukuri making experience - do it! - Incredible! Absolutely fantastic experience that is one-of-a-kind and very unique. We had a great time making our own khukuri knives and learning about the history of them. Swoyam was a wonderful guide, very friendly, chatty, knowledgeable and amazing English … he’s a credit to the tour company! Indra and his two apprentice nephews showed us how to make the knives and were very friendly and helpful. I’d give this workshop 11/10 … best thing we’ve ever done!

Great Khukuri Making Experience - The Khukuri Making Workshop was one of the best parts of my trip to Nepal. The workshop included transportation to and from the hotel. The workshop fee includes making a 6” khukuri. For an additional fee I was able to make a 10” khukuri. Everything needed for the workshop was provided. The smith is true craftsman. He is extremely skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of creating high quality khukuri. He has an assistant who can help if you need a break from forging. I truly enjoyed this workshop and if I visit Nepal again, I will definitely repeat this workshop.

Forged in Fire in Kathmandu - The Khukuri-making workshop was one of the highlights of our stay in Kathmandu. Our tour guide was punctual, polite and helpful, answering all of our questions and serving as a translator between us and the blacksmith. Sure, you can purchase a Khukuri in a store, but it's even better when you have a hand in making it. I highly recommend this workshop.

An authentic experience! - If you have any interest in knife making or just expert craftsmanship this half-day experience is for you. In this rustic workshop you will take a piece of steel and mold it into a functional keepsake khukri with the assistance of a true master! Pounding, grinding, polishing, sharpening, tempering and sanding are all hands on! A guide picked us up and took us to a neighborhood where the workshop is located, an interesting experience in itself! The finished product is fabulous-it slices paper just like ads for sharpeners online!
