Excellent tour guide - Our tour guide Mike was excellent, very knowledgeable about Budapests Jewish Heritage and the Synagogue. He answered many questions from the group, we really enjoyed this tour, highly recommended.

Interesting tour - A very interesting history of the Jewish community in Budapest. Nice to see the inside of Europe’s largest Jewish synagogue.

Very interesting tour - The guide was very knowledgeable and thorough in telling us about the synagogue’s history and importance, as well as the surrounding area. Only 4 couples so plenty of time for questions.

Budapest Dohany Synagogue & Hungarian Jewish Museum - This was a fantastic tour. Milan was full of great information, friendly and energetic. The day was very informative and emotional. I love a small group. The longer tour was worth every minute. Some people left after the first half. I feel they missed out on much more information. We highly recommend this tour...Cathrine W.

Our guide was extremely... - Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the synagogue and Jewish life. He brought it to life by telling us about his family’s experiences during the war. Unfortunately, we were on the short (45 minutes) tour so the synagogue was the only thing he had time to cover. I’m sure we would have enjoyed the longer tour.

Great tour - Great to understand more of the Jewish customs. Knowledgable tour guide but hard to hear in the synagogue with so many tours as he also spoke very quickly! However would definitely recommend

Far too expensive - Nice synagogue. The guided tour was a bit frustrating because at the entrance we were told that our group was going to start when it had already started. We could have waited because visit every half hour. In addition, the guide (who was very well!) very soft, spoke weakly, we did not hear everything. You can feel the weight of history in his words and the walls. The exterior is interesting. The museum (for me) is of limited interest. The price is completely disproportionate for this visit, more than 30€/person! I don't recommend it.

Yes and no... sail - The Great Synagogue is located within the Jewish Quarter. We bought the ticket online, (pretty expensive), this also includes the small synagogue, cemetery, ghetto museum, Jewish museum and memorial. The tour takes place with a guide in Italian, inside the synagogue and outside in the memorial, after which you are left free to turn. The visit can be done safely in an hour, but even less. Inside the Synagogue there is an obligation to wear (for men) the kippah that is provided at the entrance, but a simple hat is also fine. The architecture of the structure is very beautiful, and it is very spacious. On the outside there are also toilets. What about... to visit because it is the largest in Europe and the fourth in the world. Maybe I was expecting something more when compared to the price of the ticket.

Not recommended - We followed the advice found on the net, but the ticket cost 40 euros each, and the guide had a small speaker around his neck from 10 euros maximum, which however did not work. I do not join those who recommend going there, much of the things they deserve you can see from the outside, while instead I strongly recommend a visit to the Glass House Memorial Museum.
