Amazing full day trip - Amazing full-day trip from Bucharest! We visited Bran Castle, Peleș Castle and Brașov – everything was well organized and the places were absolutely beautiful. Our guide Julian was fantastic – friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this tour!

Long day, but worth it! - Fantastic experience with Emanuel as our tour guide. This trip is a long day! The trip to and from Bucharest is about three hours each way. Time between castles and Braşov adds another two hours on the bus. Kudos to Emanuel for rolling with last minute schedule changes for Bran castle, and for ensuring the safety of passengers when we needed to change buses. These issues were handled seamlessly by Emanuel and he made sure we accomplished everything this trip promised. Super guide! As for the overall trip - a bit too long. We could have skipped the visit to Braşov for our eventual late lunch and, instead, dined in one of the many places adjacent to Bran Castle. Braşov is a cute town but, imo, the added time for this stop was not worth it. Overall, if you're wanting to see the castles from Bucharest, this is your way!

Group experience in Transylvania - Beautiful experience. We visited all the castles and the city of Brasov. Dracula Castle is less spectacular than described, while Peles Castle has exceeded expectations. The guide, Marius, accompanied us on the visit to Peles and told us about the fantastic details about the castle, he was also great at entertaining us on the bus with curiosity and other interesting information. He also recommended great places to eat. He speaks perfect Italian.

Long but enjoyable day. - Long but enjoyable day. Very punctual and efficient. Knowledgeable and friendly guide, Emanuel, and skilful driver, Florien. We were lucky, or unlucky, depending on your perspective, to do the trip on Easter Sunday - we didn't know when booking - advantages are, limited crowds, quieter roads, more time at destinations, disadvantages are lots of places closed, including Peles Castle. However, there's plenty still open and had an amazing day. Brought our own lunch because weren't sure about lunch stops or facilities. Stopped in Brasov for 2 hours, so plenty of time for lunch there. Bran castle - lots of steps, not at all suitable for disabled travellers, paid 90 leu at castle as absolutely no queues. Can't get into the gardens without paying. 35 euro each if you pay on the bus (cash or card) but get fast track entry ( which we didn't need). Lots of artisan/souvenir stalls outside. Brasov - beautiful city. Lots of choice for food and drink. Don't chance the cable car due to time limitation. Peles Castle - closed for Easter Sunday, but can walk around front for photos and cafe/bar was open. Don't like you eating on bus. No hard sell for castle tickets. Ongoing commentary from guide which made a long journey bearable. Comfortable coach - no toilet, but toilets at all 3 stops, friendly and accommodating guide. Read the reviews before you go, especially regarding queues, purchasing tickets, eating, travel time, punctuality and toilet facilities.

Absolute must do whilst in Bucharest! - A lot of reviews on here moaning about awful traffic, long queues and not having much time at each stop, we didn't experience this at all! We did purchase our entry tickets for both castles online before the trip but we didn't need to, there were no queues at all and walked straight in. We had around 2 hours at each stop which was plenty of time to enjoy them. I will caveat all of this by stating that we visited mid week in March, our tour guide did say that in peak summer or during the ski season the traffic can be pretty awful and it could take hours to get between stop so pick your dates well! The castles themselves are beautiful and definitely worth going inside. The drive through the mountains was also stunning. Our tour guide Emmanuel was amazing, so knowledgeable and provided some great recommendations on restaurants and things to do in both Brasiv and Bucharest. He also swapped the itinerary around to ensure we avoided any crowds and made the most out of our day. We arrived back in Bucharest at 7pm so it is a long day, however it doesn't feel like it as the drives are broken up by the different stops. It was probably a 50/50 split between time on and off the coach. 100% worth it in my opinion and a must do while in Romania!

The tour was really fun... - The tour was really fun and interesting; it's something different from just exploring the city as we got to travel through some traditional towns and see the mountains. Seeing 'Dracula's' castle was really cool, as was visiting Peleș castle. The guide didn't overdo it and we got plenty of time to explore the castles and grounds on our own, and of course take lots of photos. Bear in mind, however, that the guide does walk quickly so you have to keep up, and it's quite a strenuous walk to 'Dracula's' castle, up a steep cobbled path, so be prepared! Brașov was stunning and definitely worth making the trip for. There were lots of places to sit and take it all in, and lots of eateries too. It's so different from Bucharest that the trip felt more like a full-blown holiday rather than just a city break. The guide (Alex) was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and funny too! He didn't overdo it and talk the whole time on the bus, so we were able to chill in quiet throughout the journey. He pointed out the key places and shared some interesting stories. On the drive back, he passed around a piece of paper so we could write down any questions we had and then answered them all for us, which was a really nice touch. 10/10 for Alex. The trip lasted 12 hours; we departed Bucharest at 7am, and arrived back at 7pm. It's a long day but very worth it. The bus was comfy and the driver was good. However, there was no eating on the bus which was quite annoying as we had to arrive at the departure point for 6.30am, and the first leg of the trip was 2 hours, so you have to get up extra early to have breakfast in advance, and wait quite a while until lunch. Also, not stopping for a toilet break during the first leg of the drive was not ideal, so bear this in mind if you have a weak bladder as it might not make the most comfortable experience! Highly recommend.

Two great castles, one disappointing tour guide - We had about two hours at each location, both castles and the town of Brașov, which felt like enough time. Thanks to the shoulder season, queues were minimal and the castles weren't overly crowded. One small note: there were no scheduled toilet stops, so the only restrooms available were at the castles themselves. The tour itself was significantly undermined by our guide, Nikolas. His manner was nitpicky and at times condescending. A few examples: When I moved to overtake a slow group ahead of us, he told me to stay with our group; then, barely a minute later, he instructed everyone to overtake them. We are adults, not schoolchildren, and perfectly capable of keeping a reasonable distance without being micro-managed like that. Later on the bus, as I was already in the process of putting away a small bag of snacks, he told me the sound was "annoying" him — his exact word. The comment was unnecessary, petty, and frankly unprofessional. Meanwhile, some other guests were having loud speakerphone conversations at the back of the bus, which he did not address at all. This is an inconsistency that made his behaviour feel less like enforcing standards and more like singling people out. I'd also note that he smoked while leading the group on foot from the bus to each location. Walking a paying tour group through a public square with a lit cigarette in hand is not something I'd expect from a professional guide, and it's a poor look for the operator. I travel frequently and have taken many guided tours, so I don't write this lightly. A guide's job is to make the experience more pleasant, not worse. His attitude soured what should have been a great day, and I did not tip him, something I almost never withhold. To be fair, reviews of other guides on this tour appear positive, so this may not reflect the operator as a whole, but I'd hesitate to recommend Nikolas specifically.

Bad service ! Waste of time and money - The tour Sucks because there were so many people, very crowded and so little time in every tourist spot. The tour guide is not very friendly and not helpful. The minute I arrived in the pick up spot not even a single greeting and not polite. The tour was very rushed and not super informative. It’s a waste of money and time. The guide needs to study again learn about basic principles of right manner and good conduct!!!!!! Bad service! I’ve been traveling all over the world 101 countries this is one of the most disappointing service I’ve had in my whole travel experience.

SCAM ALERT: Hidden Markups, Lies, and a Retaliatory Guide/⚠️ - I booked a one-day tour of Pelesh, Bran and Brasov on 7 March 2026 on Tour in Romania (also operated on the booking platform as One Excellence Tours). It was a complete nightmare. 1. Cash extortion: The tour guide presses everyone on the bus to give him 60 euros in cash for tickets, when the total price of the official tickets is about 34 euros. 2. Trap and Revenge: We refused to be pitted and asked when we would arrive at Pelesh Castle in order to buy our own tickets online. The guide clearly told us to buy the 2:30-4:00 p.m. time slot. Just after we bought the tickets, he suddenly changed his itinerary and let us arrive at 10am. When we arrived, the ticket times naturally did not match. The guides coordinated the admission slots for those who paid the cash mark-up, but deliberately refused to do so for us. As a result, we were denied entry and missed the castle altogether. 3. Liar cover-up: When I filed my complaint, the travel agent lied and claimed that they had “carried out their trip as planned”. Fortunately, I have online ticket receipts and time-stamped photos that prove a serious trip time misalignment. Upon seeing my proof, the booking platform eventually forced a full refund. Core issues: If they can be honest at the outset: “Since Romanian traffic is unreliable, paying our mark-up guarantees you smooth admission when times change”, and I am happy to pay the money as a service charge. But they deliberately hide this in their product introductions, instead resorting to dirty tricks to extort money. This is something I absolutely cannot tolerate. This travel agency is unethical, highly unprofessional and vindictive. Don't ruin your holiday - avoid them at all costs!
