The journey begins at Curtea de Argeș Monastery, a significant and iconic religious and historical site. It is the resting place of the Romanian royal family.
Next, we visit Poenari Fortress, which once served as a strategic base for Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure who inspired the Dracula legend. We will admire it from the outside and delve into its intriguing history.
Following this, we explore the impressive Vidraru Dam, an engineering marvel from the 1960s that contains the shimmering waters of Lake Vidraru.
We then ascend into the Făgăraș Mountains National Park, where the beauty of nature truly shines.
Our next stop is Balea Lake, accessible only during the summer and early autumn months, situated at over 2,000 meters altitude. Here, you can enjoy the panoramic views and the renowned winding Top Gear Road.
On the return journey, we’ll pause at Capra Waterfall, an ideal spot to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

- We will NOT visit the interior of Poenari Fortress, we will only see it from below - outside. To enter in Poenari Fortress you have to climb 66 floors on the stairs!
- Similar (cheaper) tours are done by big coaches with 55 passengers, they do not stop to Poenari Fortress and Curtea de Argeș Monastery
