- Pasajul Victoriei - This is a distinctive location in Bucharest adorned with umbrellas, certainly a memorable place! Also known as Pasajul Macca-Villacrosse, it consists of two narrow streets forming a fork-like shape, covered by an elegantly designed glass roof. This allows natural light to enter while offering protection from rain. The ground floor was designated for shops, and the first-floor rooms were available for rent. One branch of the passage is named Vilacrosse, and the other is called Macca, after Mihalache Macca, the builder’s brother-in-law. The two-tined end opens onto Calea Victoriei, one of Bucharest’s main avenues, while the other end leads to the National Bank in the historic Lipscani district.
- Strada Stavropoleos - A charming “patio” supported by stone columns, adorned with colorful flowers and accompanied by birdsong, is part of the mystical Stavropoleos Monastery. This is one of the most historically significant places in Bucharest, a monument that has withstood both natural elements and challenging times, now regarded as one of the most valuable examples of Brâncovenesc architectural style.
- Carturesti Carusel - This historic monument-building in the center of Bucharest has reopened after 25 years. Cărturești Carousel is a cultural experiment in the old center, providing a space for reading, socializing, and artistic exploration in the heart of the city. The bookstore is set to tell a new story on a street with a lively commercial tradition. Its images have gained worldwide fame.
- Palatul CEC - Designed by architect Paul Gottereau, featuring elements of late 19th-century French architecture, the CEC Palace was completed in 1900. Often, images of it cause confusion online, with many mistaking it for a Parisian building. This monument is rich in history and style, perfect for a special photo shoot.
- Calea Victoriei - The most beautiful street in Bucharest! As the true backbone of the city, Calea Victoriei is the most iconic street of Little Paris, featuring numerous key attractions. Discover museums, cinemas, theaters, historic buildings, unique monuments, churches, shops, and vibrant people who bring life to each building.
- Ateneul Roman - The Romanian Athenaeum, the most stunning building in Bucharest, was constructed between 1886 and 1889, initiated by a society that launched a donation campaign with the famous slogan: “Give 1 leu for the Athenaeum!” Funds were raised in a few years, and the construction contributed to Bucharest’s nickname, Little Paris. It was not the only building of its kind in the city at that time, designed by a French architect or inspired by Parisian architecture. Also on Calea Victoriei, a few years earlier, the same Albert Galleron had built the splendid National Bank of Romania building, originally the headquarters of a private bank that declared bankruptcy on the day it received the bill for the opulent building.
