Day 1
Bucharest - Departing from Bucharest in the morning, we’ll make our way to Bulgaria. Crossing the Danube River via bridge, we’ll enter Bulgaria.

Day 1
Bucharest - Departing from Bucharest in the morning, we’ll make our way to Bulgaria. Crossing the Danube River via bridge, we’ll enter Bulgaria.
Arbanasi - We’ll explore the charming village of Arbanasi, known for its medieval Bulgarian architecture and the hidden 16th-century Church of Nativity, adorned with intricately painted frescoes.
Veliko Tarnovo - Arriving in Veliko Tarnovo in the early evening, we’ll visit the historic “City of Tsars,” the former capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire. Key attractions include the Tsarevets Fortress, the Monument of the Asenevtsi kings, and the traditional crafts market, Samovodska charshia.
Day 2
Shipka Monument - As we cross the Stara Planina mountains, we’ll stop at the Shipka Monument, also known as the “Monument of The Liberty,” which commemorates the fallen Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers from the Shipka Pass battles in the summer of 1877, a pivotal event in the Russo-Turkish War and Bulgaria’s liberation from Ottoman rule.
Museum of Roses - We’ll continue southward to Kazanlak, nestled in the picturesque Valley of Roses at the base of the Balkan Mountains, and visit the Rose Oil Museum.
Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak - We’ll explore one of the most significant tourist attractions: the Thracian Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a well-preserved monument from the Early Hellenistic Period (4th-3rd century B.C.).
Plovdiv Old Town - We’ll conclude the day with an evening orientation tour in Plovdiv.
Day 3
Plovdiv Old Town - We’ll delve into the history of Plovdiv, one of the world’s oldest cities, with a 2-hour walking tour through its ancient heart, showcasing Thracian, Roman, and Bulgarian heritage. Highlights include the Roman Theater, parts of the Roman Stadium, and the colorful 19th-century houses of the Revival Old Town.
Sofia - Arriving in Sofia in the early evening, we’ll take a walking tour of the city center, featuring the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Saint Sofia Church, Banya Bashi Mosque, the Sofia Synagogue, and the main shopping street, Vitosha.
Day 4
Rila Monastery - We’ll visit the Rila Monastery, Bulgaria’s most renowned tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, founded in the 10th century by Saint Ivan Rilsky. The tour includes the Church, a masterpiece of 19th-century painting and woodcarving.
Skopje - Heading south to the Bulgarian-Macedonian border, we’ll arrive in Skopje in the early evening and enjoy an orientation tour before checking into our centrally located hotel.
Day 5
Old Bazaar, Skopje - We’ll take a walking tour of Skopje, visiting key landmarks such as the Vardar riverfront, the Old Bazaar, the Memorial House of Mother Teresa, the ancient Kale Fortress, Macedonia Square with the statue of Alexander The Great, and more.
Nis - After crossing into Serbia, we’ll visit Nis, the birthplace of Constantine the Great, featuring one of the country’s oldest churches and scenic fortress remains.
Belgrade - Arriving in Belgrade in the afternoon, we’ll tour the Republic Square, the National Theater, the National Museum, the Bohemian Quarter, and other historic sites.
Day 6
Novi Sad - We’ll head to Novi Sad, the 2021 European Capital of Culture, to see Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, and the Danube embankment with views of the Petrovaradin Fortress.
Timisoara Historical Center - In the evening, after re-entering Romania, we’ll arrive in Timisoara, another 2021 European Capital of Culture, for a walking tour.
Day 7
Timisoara Historical Center - Enjoy free time in Timisoara to explore its squares, pedestrian areas, and cultural events.
Day 8
Castelul Corvinilor - We’ll visit the stunning Gothic Corvin Castle in the morning.
Alba Iulia - We’ll explore Alba Iulia, a city of great historical significance, where the unification of Romania was declared in 1918.
Sibiu - We’ll visit Sibiu, a medieval city with a rich history of Romanian and Saxon cohabitation, known for its religious monuments and the annual theater festival.
Day 9
Centrul Istoric Sighisoara - We’ll visit Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its well-preserved Clock Tower and historic citadel.
Brasov Historical Center - We’ll explore Brasov, a Transylvanian city with a rich cultural and architectural heritage, visiting the First Romanian School, the Black Church, and other landmarks.
Day 10
Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - We’ll tour Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle, a key medieval stronghold.
Peles Castle - We’ll visit Peles Castle, a stunning example of 19th-century architecture and one of Europe’s most modern castles at the time of its construction.
