- Begijnhof - The next stop on our tour is the Begijnhof. Established in 1245, this site preserves the history of an extraordinary group of women.
- Walplein - In this charming square, the guide will enlighten us about the history of Bruges beer.
- Stoofstraat - Here, the guide will teach us how to recognize authentic medieval houses.
- Mariastraat 23 - There will be an opportunity to capture stunning photos from the quaint bridge.
- Saint John’s Hospital - Opposite Old St. John’s Hospital, the guide will explain the workings of the medieval Bruges healthcare system.
- Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk - Across from Old St. John’s Hospital, we will see the Church of Our Lady. The guide will share intriguing details about Michelangelo’s white marble sculpture of the Madonna and Child housed inside.
- Gruuthusemuseum - In front of Gruuthuse, we will learn about Bruges’ most renowned and influential family from the 17th and 18th centuries.
- St Bonifacius Bridge - At one of Bruges’ most enchanting locations, the guide will recount the fascinating legend of this bridge. There will also be time for photos.
- Quai du Rosaire / Rozenhoedkaai - At Bruges’ most photographed spot, the guide will discuss the history of the “Pier of the Roses.” There will be an opportunity for pictures.
- Huidenvettersplein - Our next stop is Tanners Square, where we will learn about the tanners’ work in medieval Bruges.
- Burg Square - This square features the Gothic Town Hall, the Old Court House, and the Basilica of the Holy Blood.
- The Markt - The final stop of our guided tour is The Market Square or Grote Markt. Here, the guide will describe the various buildings around the square and offer tips on dining and shopping for traditional chocolate. The guide will also remind us of the time and place to catch the bus back to Brussels.
- Bruges - Enjoy approximately 4 hours of free time (subject to traffic and group pace).
