Quintessential historical introduction to Bridgetown - My partner and I booked Claudette for a private tour and very much enjoyed having her passion and knowledge all to ourselves for a good two hours! Claudette's tour has clearly been carefully crafted and perfected, yet she delivers it with the enthusiasm of it being her first time. Not only was it very informative, but also very engaging. We came prepared to do more walking, but the leisurely pace with stories shared mostly while standing/sitting strategically in the shade, suited us just fine!

Couldn't have asked for better.... - Claudette is a treasure! She is so passionate & knowledgeable about the history of Barbados. She had no issue answering questions & encouraged engagement from the group. Claudette stayed well over the time, it was clear her motivation was for the group to get the most out of the experience & was happy to continue to share interesting details. I had a great time & would encourage anyone to book.....there really is only one option when it comes to a walking tour & Claudette is it! Thank you Claudette ❤️

Historic walking tour - We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Claudette. She is a trained historian and was so passionate about the history of Barbados, and her enthusiasm was infection ... We discovered parts of the city that we didn't know existed - the old jewish cemetery, the history of the Quakers in Barbados as well as contemporary history and she addressed the challenging parts of the island's history with great sensitivity. We would definitely recommend. The natural fruit juices at the end of the trout were a lovely touch too. Thank you Claudette

AWESOME Discover Barbados Historical Tour Led by Historian Claudette - Our tour fittingly began at Independence Square. Who knew the astonishing story of Bridgetown and Barbados, its trade and industry? Claudette, our historian-tour guide, introduced us to the consequential history of the island from the 1600's to the present day, its politics and society, Barbados' significance as a major link between Europe and the Caribbean, and its prosperity. Beyond walking the serpentine streets, she pointed out architectural and historical gems--she customized the tour (I'm a lawyer and she showed us the court buildings and told us some harrowing stories). Claudette had plenty of factoids--ie notice the cannon barrels standing as "bumpers" on the corners of several buildings, the genesis of Barbados' name--the bearded fig trees or the bearded ones, or maybe both--and the origin of rum. Importantly, I felt like we were given a deep and accurate history from a scholar, which was so much more than I had expected from a walking tour.
