• Multnomah Falls - This ancient waterfall, standing at 620 feet (189 m), is nourished by underground streams originating miles above on Larch Mountain. It is divided into two sections: the upper falls dramatically drops 542 feet into a pool, then descends another 69 feet to form a creek flowing into the Columbia River. Multnomah Falls is the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States and the tallest in Oregon, attracting over 2.5 million visitors annually from around the globe. At its base, the Historic Multnomah Falls Lodge offers a full-service day lodge with a restaurant, gift shop, snack and espresso bar, and interpretative center.
• Vista House - Gracefully situated in the Columbia River Gorge, Vista House is a true treasure offering some of the most stunning views in the region. Just beyond the outdoor sturgeon pond is a small white building, home to the Sturgeon Viewing Center, established in 1998. Inside, meet Herman, the granddaddy sturgeon, who is over 80 years old, 10 feet long, and weighs an impressive 500 pounds!
• Horsetail Falls- Columbia River Gorge - Named for its unique shape, Horsetail Falls cascades 176 feet and is visible during the winter as you drive past.
• Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area - Enjoy a drive through the breathtaking Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area with stops along the way. Embark on a journey to the origins of the Cascade Mountain Range, where lava and pyroclastic materials surged and spread, forming a solid layer of basalt rock that covered Western Oregon. • Cathedral Ridge Winery - The Columbia Gorge Wine Region hosts over 65 wineries along a 40-mile stretch of the Columbia River. Although the Columbia River AVA includes both sides of the River in Oregon and Washington states, we’ll visit one selected winery within the Hood River Valley region of Oregon. The winery you will experience comes from the following list of offerings: Phelps Creek Vineyards, Cathedral Ridge Winery, Marchesi Vineyards & Winery, Viento, Mt. • Mirror Lake Trail - This beautifully maintained trail leads to a serene mountain lake, offering stunning postcard-worthy views of Mount Hood alongside the majestic Tom Dick and Harry Mountains. Since the old trailhead was decommissioned in 2018, visitors now embark on a longer hike, though the elevation gain is somewhat reduced from the new Mirror Lake Trailhead.
