Fantastic day at Tae Rak and Budj Bim - What an incredible experience. I was camping at Budj Bim National Park and took the two hour Lake Tar Rak tour. Such a warm, friendly and welcoming journey through thousands of years of geological and Cultural Knowledge. Highly recommended . Next time I will take a longer tour !

A fascinating insight in to the lake and its inhabitants. - We had a lovely time with Jaydon who was a very informative and patient guide. He had the perfect voice for the job - articulate and above all else I could hear him clearly despite being outdoors for much of the tour. The life cycle of the eels is fascinating, as is the history both recent and long past of the lake and its custodians. Held us all enthralled for the 2 hours despite if being a very hot day. The share platter we had at the cafe before we set off was delicious and perfect for the 4 of us. The building and general surrounds is architecturally really well done.

Tae Rak tour of lake and fish traps. - We loved our tour of Budj Bim. Our guide, Joey was fantastic. He obviously has passion for sharing his knowledge of the recent and distant history of the site. The work that has been done to restore the site to pre european times, ie re-establishing the lake is great to see.

Magical Experience of World Heritage Site - Rueben was a passionate storyteller - taking us on a journey of understanding into the lives of the Gunditjmara people of the ancient Budj Bim eel trap area. He showed us how they would have lived, caring and preserving the place for future generations through all seasons. We started the day with a beautiful tasting plate of eel and by the end of the tour were in awe of these magical creatures. Thank you for the opportunity to experience a UNESCO listed site - it truly is world class!

Awesome and Enlightening - The tour was one of the most significant and informative experiences of my life. It further eroded the misleading information, that I was given at school in the 1950s, about our original inhabitants. Our gracious and personable guide, Jaydon, was a walking encyclopaedia who fundamentally enriched the Tae Rak exposure. The tasting plate at your restaurant was delicious and a great idea as well

Very informative - Excellent value. Informative two hours with a very knowledgeable, entertaining and humorous Gunditjmara guide. Fascinating to learn about the life cycle of the eel and to see traps that had been used for millenia prior to European settlement. Humbling to hear the impact on indigenous Australians.

Tae Rak experience - What an astonishing discovery. An indigenous protected site with tours run by the local people. The early inhabitants were not nomadic but really farmers and traders. A 2 hour session and an easy walk followed by a good meal in the cafe. We learnt all about a way of life few of us folk knew about

Very moving and thought provoking - Very informative and educational. It was quite an experience being on country where cultural practice occurred pre-colonisation and today. A truly remarkable story. We will be return in a few more years when further work has been completed to show more.

Memorable, beautiful and thought provoking! - Incredible, beautiful and culturally important showing a thriving pastime with intelligence and sustainability all wrapped together. There is some much history that is being pieced together in spite of the 220 year colonial hiatus. You can picture the abundance and clever management that nourished the local community for 6700 years. It was brought to life by our guide Joey whose curiosity and generosity to share his learnings and encouraged our questions that made our visit memorable and thought provoking! Thank you!! The local platter was delicious, locally inspired and nicely presented and varied. Thank you!!
