Truly remarkable experience - The most perfect trip we could have imagined!
We booked to stay for 3D/2N at the Peacock Lodge for our honeymoon and had the most amazing experience.
We stayed with Helder and his family, who were so accommodating and friendly (even baking me a cake for my birthday!)
His extensive knowledge, animal calls and a lifetime of experience within the Amazon made this a truly remarkable visit. Everything was finely balanced between busy/down time, which is needed when you have so many experiences and new information to comprehend - we found it important to take time to slow down and take in where you really are.
The second part of our trip to meet the indigenous people was with Toniel who was fantastic, an indigenous man himself, he offered a personal insight into their lives and traditions before we swam up close and personal with the famous pink dolphins!
If you're looking for a once in a lifetime trip, we fully recommend Joshua's Amazon Expeditions

Amazon Adventure - My husband and I were picked up at our Manaus hotel and taken by taxi, boat, van, and boat to the Amazon Peacock Paradise Ecolodge where we stayed for two amazing days. We took part in all the activities offered, and especially enjoyed the jungle walk and evening cruise. The river is so beautiful where the lodge is located and we saw many animals, such as monkeys and caimans, along with exotic birds and fish. Helder, who was our guide, speaks fine English and is very knowledgeable about the area, having grown up there. Buffet meals were very good and we left relaxed and very satisfied. On the way back to Manaus, our guide Sofia took us to meet indigenous people who danced for us and to view pink dolphins. All in all, a very memorable 3-day tour.

Exploring The Amazon Jungle 3D/2N At Amazon Boto Lodge - We had a great time on this tour of the Amazon Rainforest at the Amazon Boto Lodge. We had such a short time to visit, I was shocked at how much we were able to see in just 3 days & 2 nights.
Things I really liked: our guide was Earth focused, communicative, & we felt safe. His name was Kenji and he explained things very well. I never felt like there was confusion at all. It was sad to see how climate change is affecting the rainforest but I was glad this topic was broached. Survival of the planet is often pegged as political, which is a shame.
The food went above and beyond my expectations. I'm not even gonna go into detail here. Home cooked meals by a family who lives at the lodge every day, what a treat that was.
This lodge took about 3 hours to get to, from the city of Manaus. It is all about the journey - not the destination. 10/10 would recommend this lodge.
If I could do anything differently, I would choose the tours that take you camping in the jungle. The lodge had way more amenities than I was expecting too (shower, AC, electricity). I mean, there was even a TV on in the dining place (which was weird to me bc I'm in the jungle but here is the world cup on TV and the problems in Iran) but it's totally understandable - this life for people, so of course most want that option. If I could, I would have stayed longer and gone deeper in. I think being a tourist, on the outside - it's hard to really go deeper in on a first trip - that really feels like something you'd have to earn.
We were the only two people on this tour. That blew my mind. At first I had looked forward to meeting others and not feeling the pressure to talk but it turned out for the best because our guide did this most wonderful thing when we'd arrive at a spot and he'd turn off the motor and we'd just sit in silence. It was perfect. There was no need to talk - turns out I actually have a lot of questions and probably talk too much.
Anyway, overall, this tour I had chosen due to 2 reasons: 1) the reviews made me feel like this was a humble, less sales-y tour place and it's true, this operation is mellow and grounded 2) it had a short 2 night option which we needed for the limitations we had on vacation time/finances.

Excellent..... - Joshua has exceeded all our expectations with his planning, punctuality and organisation. From the first boat trip to the last it was great......our guide "Cobra" couldn’t have been more helpful and informative. The "Amazon Boto Lodge" was friendly with Frank "Sinatra and Thelma's cooking and preparation of all the meals was excellent. They all went that bit extra to make our stay perfect.......even when it poured with rain....and the use of a small swimming pool after a long day was again just what you wanted.......would highly recommend Joshua’s tour......

Boto lodge amazon experience - Amazing experience. The transport to/from the hostel and lodge was super smooth and efficient. Marcus assisted us the whole way, we were well looked after here and even dropped us at the airport the day after. The food was lovely, with a variety of fish and meat dishes, we were fed very well. We spotted many animals, including dolphins, monkeys, birds, turtles and more. Our guide in the amazon was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife and area, with their passion really shining through when we spotted caymans at night and visited a local house to learn about their culture and way of living. We appreciate we came during the dry season and during a drought, it would have been great to learn about the animals we would have seen in the rainy season. We would encourage guides to share as much information as they can on the animals/wildlife, as many to come to learn as well as see the area. As three young female travellers we felt super safe at all times! Overall we had an incredible experience with Joshua’s amazon expedition and would recommend this to anyone wanting to go visit this part of the world

Amazon trip - Having time in jungle, and river was fantastic!! We were in awe of the environment surrounding us! We booked the Boto lodge, and somehow that changed to the Mamori lodge! We did want to at least see pink dolphins, as we were to swim with them!!

Okay - Way to much free time on this trip. Did a very similar one in Peru and we were always busy. Not the best communication with guide. Ask daily what the plan for the day was, was always told the first few hours then told nothing else. One day brought back to the lodge at 4.30 (after having an 2 hr afternoon break before) and the guide walked off without even saying anything. That was us given free time until 8am the next day. The guide had lots of knowledge which was great but maybe not always the most enthusiastic. Not the worst trip but from experience I think you could probably get a better one. Our boat driver was really lovely. When we did do activities we enjoyed them. Just not enough of them!
