- Main Square - Hlavné námestie has been the central square of Bratislava since medieval times, acting as the hub of the city’s political, economic, and cultural activities.
The square was the site of several royal coronations during the period when Bratislava (then Pressburg) served as a coronation town for the Kingdom of Hungary.
- Primatial Palace - Constructed in the late 18th century, between 1778 and 1781, the Primatial Palace is designed in the late Baroque style.
It was commissioned by Archbishop József Batthyány to be the residence of the archbishops of Esztergom.
- Michael’s Gate - Michael’s Gate is the sole surviving gate from the original four medieval gates that once fortified Bratislava.
It dates back to the late 14th century, with some sections being even older.
- Bratislava Castle - The site of Bratislava Castle has been occupied since ancient times, with evidence of settlements from the late Stone Age and later Celtic and Roman periods.
- St. Martin’s Cathedral - St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation church for the Kingdom of Hungary from the 16th to the 19th centuries.
It was the venue for the coronation of numerous Hungarian kings and queens, including Maria Theresa, the only woman crowned as Queen of Hungary.
- Plague Column - The Plague Column was constructed between 1713 and 1715 in response to the severe plague epidemic that afflicted Bratislava in the early 18th century. The epidemic caused significant loss of life and hardship for the population.
The column was erected as a votive monument and a gesture of gratitude for the city’s deliverance from the plague.
