From May to November, meet your driver-guide at your hotel in Brasov in the late afternoon. Set off in an air-conditioned minivan or car for a 40-minute drive through the forests surrounding Brasov.
During the journey, gain intriguing insights into the brown bears, learning how they can grow to impressive sizes, with some males weighing up to 770 pounds (350 kg). Discover their lives in the wild and how their keen sense of smell is crucial for their survival.
Meet with the ranger who will explain the rules to follow in the bears’ habitat. Then, take a 20-minute walk or a jeep ride to the observatory. Here, observe the brown bears in their natural environment and capture photos of males, females with cubs, and their interactions.
You are guaranteed to see bears.
After approximately two hours, leave the observatory and return to the van. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Brasov.
