Day 1: Bucharest - Peles Castle - Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) - Brasov
A private guide will greet the traveler at the airport or their centrally located hotel in Bucharest. The journey to Transylvania begins with a visit to Peles Castle, situated in Sinaia, approximately 44 km from Brasov. This castle is renowned as one of Europe’s most stunning, set against the picturesque Carpathian Mountains, and is a prime example of German Renaissance architecture.
The next destination is Bran, home to the legendary ‘Castle of Dracula’. This castle, shrouded in mystery and perched on a 200-foot-high rock, is famous for its dramatic towers and turrets, as well as the Dracula myth inspired by Bram Stoker.
In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of the medieval town of Brasov. Key attractions include the Black Church, Citadel of Brasov, Ecaterina’s Gate, White Tower, Black Tower, The Blacksmiths Bastion, The Weavers Bastion, The Ropemakers Bastion, and The Drapers Bastion.
Day 2: Brasov - Prejmer - Harman - Sighisoara
The day starts with a visit to the Fortified Church of Prejmer, a UNESCO World Heritage site located about 16 km northeast of Brasov. It is one of Eastern Europe’s best-preserved fortified churches, with 12-meter-high and 4-meter-thick walls that protected the church and its inhabitants during wartime.
Next, explore the Fortified Church of Harman, which, though smaller than Prejmer, is equally charming and architecturally significant.
The tour concludes with a visit to the fortified town of Sighisoara, another UNESCO site. Sighisoara is one of the few inhabited fortified towns globally and is an excellent example of medieval town planning, with all medieval elements perfectly preserved. Highlights include the Clock Tower & History Museum, The Church on the Hill, House of Dracula, the roofed stairways, and the German cemetery.
Day 3: Sighisoara - Fortified Church of Biertan - Bucharest
Today, visit the Fortified Church of Biertan, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This architectural ensemble impresses with its harmonious setting and aesthetic and historical significance. The original building materials have been preserved since the late 15th and early 16th centuries, justifying its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
