A day in Medoc and St Emilion, Bordeaux. - Our day in Medoc and St Emilion was really wonderful. Our guide, Thibault, was excellent. He was informative, good fun and made the day special. The wineries we visited, Chateau Siran Margaux, Chateau Palais Cardinal and Chateau Grand Barrail LaMarzelle Figeac were great and I learnt so much about the Bordeaux region. Lunch at Chateau Palais Cardinal was delicious. We had a lovely visit to the historic town of Saint Emilion and Thibault explained its history. It was a beautiful day. Thank you.

Incredible Private 2 day tour - This is our 2nd year to utilize A la Francaise (last year Champagne and Burgundy); this year was Bordeaux (St Emilion and Medoc) over two days. Hugo and team set up a great agenda as we were intentional with our wineries and requested a private tour. Day 1 we had visited two wonderful chateaux - Chateau Vallandraud and Chateau Canon la Gaffelliere. Galaad our tour guide, who is very knowledgeable of wines gave us a personal tour of St Emilion. Day 2 we visited three amazing chateaux - Chateau Giscours, Chateau Gruaud Larose and Chateau Pedesclaux. In addition to the amazing wineries, Hugo and team arranged lunch at two incredible places, la Terrasse Rouge and Cafe Lavinal; both of these restaurants we amazing in terms of food, but also the presentation and pairing with wines. Thank you Galaad for the amazing experience and keeping us on time....;) We will be back.

Bordeaux Full-Day Médoc and Saint-Émilion Tour – Beautiful Vineyards, Poor Organization - The booking process through TripAdvisor was smooth as always, but the meeting point instructions were confusing. It said “in front of the Monument aux Girondins,” which sounds clear — until you realize it’s located in Place des Quinconces, one of the largest squares in Europe. With such a massive area, they should’ve mentioned which side of the monument to meet at. The schedule also got off track. Two participants arrived half an hour late, leaving the rest of us — including my 8-year-old daughter — waiting in 9°C cold for nearly an hour. That’s something the company should’ve handled more firmly or compensated for. Our driver shared some information about the area and wines, but it was basic and not particularly engaging. Out of the three châteaux we visited, only the last winery guide stood out as genuinely knowledgeable and passionate. The others gave short, generic explanations that felt rehearsed. The transport was clean, comfortable, and punctual, with fair seating and a smooth drive through the countryside. The château visits themselves were well-organized, and the time spent at each stop was balanced — long enough to explore but never dragging. However, the lunch was disappointing — just snacks rather than a real meal, and there was no prior notice about dietary accommodations. For a full-day wine tour, that’s a major shortcoming. The group itself was pleasant, and the guide maintained a friendly tone, though the day felt packed with little personal space or downtime. Overall, while the scenery and final château visit were memorable, the poor meeting instructions, cold waiting period, and underwhelming lunch made the experience feel below expectations for the price. ⭐ 2.5 / 5
