Excellent welcome and very interesting guided tour of the city - With a friend, we went to discover the city of Bordeaux. It was a first! Our first reflex was to go to the tourist office to glean as much information as possible. We were very well received and advised by Delphine and Edouard. To learn more about the city, we followed a walking tour of the historic center. Our guide Bruno lived up to our expectations. We have learned a lot of exciting things. Thank you all for contributing to the excellence of our stay. Sincerely, Ramon.

First we waited at the... - First we waited at the meeting point in front of Tourism office. Then we found out it was inside the tourism office to meet the guide. Second, we were told by the guide she was a last minute replacement for the actual guide. Third, we wasted a good 20 minutes because the audio devices we were given couldn’t worked with the guide’s audio. Finally, they found one working and we could start the tour. Because the group was over 20 people we needed those devices to hear the guide talk. We believe the replacement guide wasn’t too familiar with the tour as she had to do it in both French and English. She was looking for words/ explanations when she spoke in English. It wasn’t a continuous flow and there were many hesitations. The tour itself is correct as we went around the old city and saw several key landmarks. One thing to point out is because we started the tour late, the guide didn’t cut the tour short and gave us the proper amount of time for the tour. I would recommend this tour with a guide that has done it several times. If the tour is done in two languages then it has to be done with a fully bilingual person.

This walking tour was... - This walking tour was supposed to be a small group, unfortunately the tour guide “inherited” a group of French speaking only tourists which made it difficult to hear him whenever he spoke, plus majority of the time he spoke in French. He would give us short explanations in English but most of the time tour was in French. He tried very hard. Unfortunately we believe maybe the tour guide for the French speaking group didn’t show up therefore they joined our group. We were disappointed about this especially because we don’t speak French, and paid for an English tour.

Museums closed at Ascension - Strange big city where on Ascension Day, most museums are closed. In my small town of 8,000 inhabitants is well open that day.

Disappointment! - Tour in both French and English ( which we were not told ahead) so stops took at least twice as long since leader had to present in each language separately. Leader had no name tag or company info and said « no » when I asked before tour start if she was with the English Viator tour. Took a call from me to Viator to straighten out. We left tour after first 45 minutes when we were still at first stop. A surprise since our Viator experiences have been excellent.
