- Rancho Del Rio - The Upper Colorado River is one of the best river sections in the State to try out river toys. There are several stretches of slow-moving water on our Colorado River trips that are perfect to play around on an inflatable kayak. We run inflatable kayaks alongside guided river trips with rafts.
An inflatable kayak or “ducky” is a sit-on-top style kayak made of rubber that has multiple chambers filled with air. This offers a more personal experience with the river meaning you will follow your guides but will navigate your own boat down the river. We have both single passengers as well as double-person ducks for those who would like to paddle with a partner. You must be at least 12 years old to use a ducky on this trip.
Conveniently located to Winter Park and Breckenridge, Silverthorne, and Dillon, Upper Colorado River Rafting provides mild Class I-II rapids and occasional Class III rapids at higher water flow! Feel free to bring the entire family on this journey, as there is sure to be something for everyone.
First timer? No problem! Our guides will help you get comfortable with your river craft. The trip is approximately 3.5 hours.

This section of the Colorado River showcases picturesque landscapes, ranging from meadows and valleys to rolling ranch regions and precipitous canyon walls. The wildlife is varied and abundant, with sightings of bald eagles, deer, beavers, and big horn sheep as common spectacles.
As a paddler, you can voyage to a sandy coast to observe gatherings of geese, journey to the precipices of vast cliffs, or navigate around minor barriers — your adventure is guided by your own curiosity. Partner up in a two-person ducky, or relish in the serenity of a solo ride.
Upper Colorado River Rafting features mild Class I-II rapids, with the occasional Class III rapid during periods of high-water flow. If an adrenaline-charged experience is what you’re after, the high-water season, typically from mid-June to early July, is the optimal time to visit. Peak river flow can make for a thrilling ride. You can either pick a prominent line or sidestep it, navigating your own ducky at your own pace!
