A good experience. - As I already anticipated from the title, this visit was a really good experience, both from the educational point of view and from that of virtual reality. We tried the virtual journey of exploring Tutankhamun's tomb, and it was very exciting. I enjoyed Howard Carter's virtual reconstruction of how the grave was found without adding anything. 18 euros really well spent.

Really exciting - Playing the role of Howard Carter means experiencing the same emotions of discovery, approaching and grasping the funerary objects, faithfully reconstructed, with the assistance of kind tutors.

suggested - Very nice and suggestive experience. Everything well taken care of: assistance and cleanliness of the place introduce pleasantly to this trip. We chose it for educational purposes for our son who studied Egyptians at school this year. Of course we did not come to Bologna on purpose, but since we were in the city it seemed an original surprise. The virtual route is very detailed and full of information. Our son was enthusiastic and asked for two other routes: the medieval bologna and the game of flight and killing monsters. Needless to say, he had a lot of fun with the latter.

Disappointing 3D attraction - I did not expect to have a disappointing experience booking for the 2 films presented by La Macchina del Tempo. The film imagined to illustrate the discovery by archaeologist Howard Carter of the tomb of the famous pharaoh is close enough to reality. The objects discovered in the tomb and their location have been faithfully reproduced as explained to us in the preamble to the attraction. The film aims to make you live this discovery as Howard Carter lived it. So there is very little action and sensation in this film. You move slowly without necessarily understanding which route you should take or in which order. The film is also quite dark. I did not find any emotion in it, although we were presented with this attraction as providing a lot of emotion. In fact, if the concept is attractive, the implementation of the attraction is very complicated, even more so than for the film about Bologna. You have a heavy headset that slides with 3D glasses and headphones on the ears. You also have in each hand a controller with three buttons on each controller, which you must press as you wish to advance in the movie, listen to explanations, grab objects, perform certain actions. You are assisted by an operator who monitors the progress of your journey on a control screen. If you are mistaken or park too long, it gives you oral indications, often inaudible. My reservation called for me to do this attraction first. She was moved second without being given any real reason. I figured out why then. I didn't take advantage of it. This is not due to the technical quality of these films or necessarily their design. This is due to the gap in practice which assumes that the material works correctly, that the language proposed is appropriate to the language understood by the user, that the operation is simple for the user and that the actions to be carried out are intuitive. This attraction is very expensive compared to the time spent and the useful time. If you’re curious, try starting with the movie about Bologna but expect nothing.
