Highlights
  • Plaza de Mercado de Paloquemao - FIRST STOP:

We start the morning visiting one of the most classic market squares in the city of Bogotá, where you can try seasonal fruits, brought directly from the Colombian fields.

  • Gold Museum (Museo del Oro) - SECOND STOP:

You will embark on a journey through time to discover The LEGEND OF DORADO, its indigenous gold and sacred lagoons.
You will also learn how beautiful and perfect pieces such as the Pororo and the Sacred Boat were created through such an ancient technique used by the indigenous people. Entrance fee to the gold museum per person $2.5 USD (Not included).
On Mondays the gold museum is closed. That day we can change museums or activities.

  • Barrio La Candelaria - THIRD STOP:

Then we will go to the ancient city, El famous Chorro de Quevedo, to the origins of Bogotá, where we will find different stories from the creation of the city to the present.
We will rest for a few minutes trying one of the TYPICAL ancestral drinks “La Chicha”, which we can mix with different fruits, such as passion fruit, pineapple and red fruits. (Drink not included)
We will walk through colonial streets and colorful houses.

  • Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica - FOURTH STOP:

Walking within the walls of what was an archiepiscopal palace in 1733, you will be able to discover an allegorical, voluptuous world of round shapes through the eyes of one of our most important Colombian figurative artists.
On Tuesdays the Botero museum is closed. That day we can change museums or activities.

  • Plaza de Bolivar de Bogota - FIFTH STOP:

Get to know the place from which the history of Bogotá and its construction began to be traced. Among its streets, you will learn several stories; the place where Colombia’s cry for independence was born, the oldest school in Latin America, to the church where the death of a priest was faked, to hide one of the most beautiful pieces of colonial art in Colombia.

  • Barrio La Candelaria - LAST STOP:

Finally, a relaxed and fun plan, just to end the day, plus we are ready for lunch.
We are going to play “TEJO”, the Colombian national sport. While playing, you will be able to enjoy typical Colombian dishes, have a beer, snacks and cocktails, have a pleasant chat, interact and meet local people and delve into the rich Colombian culture.

Then we will explore old Bogotá, and among its streets of colorful colonial houses, we will find stories not only of historical data, but also stories of love, wars, Knights Templar, ancestors and a culture that we have been recovering little by little.

To remember the times of our grandparents, we will try in gratitude to them some of the most iconic dishes of Bogotá and some nearby regions, and we will end the day as my grandfather did with his friends, with a good cold beer and playing shuffleboard!

Professional and thoughtful! - I was in Bogota for business, and I wanted to explore the area after work. I had gotten Manuel's information from a coworker who had used him on another trip, and thank goodness I did! Manuel was professional, kind, and helpful the entire trip. He drove me all over the city, and hiked around a bit with me too! He even indulged me while I practiced my Spanish! I would highly recommend Manuel as a tour guide and a driver.

Unforgettable day trip in Bogota - MH Drive Tour is the best option. Its reasonable and very well thought out plan that takes you through a journey across the culture, architecture, food and everything Columbian via this trip. The tour operator himself speaks the language well and takes extra initiatives to explain everything that a curious traveler would like to know. I strongly recommend him.

A Trip to Bogotá - Though I had been in Bogota for business related matters I didn’t know Bogotá very well and I was somehow concerned coz it would be the first time for my friend and I wanted her to have the real Colombian experience. Manuel definitely gave us an amazing and incredible experience in Bogota. He is not only a good story teller but also has a refine taste for food, music and bakery. He can suggest you the best places to eat and visit. We always felt save and he went about and beyond to make us feel at home. I would highly recommend him.

Manuel has the best vallenato playlist. - Hiring Manuel's services was one of the best decisions on our Colombia trip. With Manuel we felt safe, protected, he helped us with everything we asked of him, he showed us how beautiful Bogotá is and those points that are not so well known but that without a doubt make a difference in a positive way. The last day in Bogotá we went out to do some flash shopping and even though we were anxious not to miss the flight, Manuel always tried to convey peace to us and thanks to Him we didn't miss the plane. Manuel, thank you for going the extra mile and making my stay memorable.
