Fun, educational, good food & photo ops - The guide was very knowledgeable on plant life and history and local culture. There were some good photo opportunities at the lagoon and the Hermitage, including good views of the city from the mountain. The walking part was gentle, I think a little under four miles total, with shallow inclines. Some rock hopping was needed to get over puddles. Breakfast and lunch were at the same place and were both tasty. There were vegetarian options available. There was also some chocolate sampling and the option to buy, though they weren't pushy about selling. Overall, a fun and educational day out.

Beautiful trip to get to know the Páramo Cruz Verde - Amazing hiking tour in a Páramo close to Bogotá. Really beautiful flora and great views of the Laguna de Teusacá. The path was a beautiful historic stone paved historic way and good to walk even in wet weather. Lorena was a great and really nice tour guide, with a very in-depth knowledge about the biology, geography, history and especially anthropology of the area and its past and current inhabitants. She gave us a great insight to the live in this part of Colombia. I highly recommend this tour when you want to escape the busy loud city and enjoy some peace and quiet in nature.

Incredible - We had an amazing hike with Daniel and his dog Appa. He taught us a lot about the different plants and how critical the ecosystem is to the water supply. It is a beautiful landscape and we had the perfect weather for it. The view at Guadalupe was incredible, we were looking down at Monserrate and across the whole city. The lunch and breakfast were also very good. This was our 7th day here and our favorite tour that we have done in Bogota.

Great Trip! Paramo Hike - I did the Paramo hike with Lorena, and would absolutely recommend her as a guide! She knew so much about the landscape and biodiversity of the Paramo, and could speak about all the different places in depth! It was a lovely trip and the landscape we saw was incredible! Definitely worth doing while in Bogotá!

Enjoy peace, tranquility, beauty & fresh air of the Paramo. - Wonderful hike to the beautiful Paramo of Matarredonda led by our fabulous guide, Lorena. Lorena was very knowledgeable of the Paramo ecology and how critical it is to the Bogata water supply. With a degree in anthropology, Lorena also put in context how important the Paramo was to the indigenous people. The tour also included a visit to Guadalupe with its Vista view of Bogota, and also a wonderful breakfast and lunch. After being in the hustle and bottle of Bogata it was refreshing to experience the peace, tranquility, beauty and fresh air of the Paramo.

Andres is the best! - Andres was the most incredible tour guide! He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and patient. We were a family of 6 (grandparents, parents, and 2 elementary age kids). Andres and Wilson (our driver) were a pleasure to tour with. With it being a small group (10 max), it was a great way to really learn everything we wanted to. The breakfast was lovely - both Colombian and more 'American' versions available. I actually really loved the hostel where we met, too. I wish we'd had time to go back and have a drink at the Crazy Croc. The drive to the paramo was about a half hour, and we spent about 3 hours on a very simple hike (and back). There were some puddles and rocks, but I feel like it's a hike that really anyone can do. No need to have any athletic prowess, as my mom has sciatica pain and doesn't walk much. She was able to do most of the hike. After the hike, there is a little time for rest and snacks (not included) before going to see Guadalupe - where the views are more stunning than Monserrate! in fact, it's even higher than Monserrate! The day ended with a lovely lunch at the same spot as the breakfast. Wilson was even so kind as to take us back to our airbnb for a little extra cash.

Lovely day. Not a strenuous hike. - Lovely hike to the lagoon. Majority of the hike was on a rock path built by the indigenous as a route to bogota. It’s not a smooth trail though - more like a stone wall texture so those with balance issues, steer clear. Wonderful new foliage to discover, a few birds and some great views of the countryside.
