Breathtaking! - We had a fantastic experience. A great way to get a break from the hustle and bustle of Bogota, and experience some incredibly impressive nature. Lorena, our tour guide, was great with teaching us about many different topics around Colombian delicacy, wildlife, fauna and flora and the local ecosystem. You will not be disappointed!

Hiking the waterfalls - Yaqueline was my guide and she was great. She was on time and made sure we were ready to go. She gave good explanations on various plants we encountered on the hike as well as some sights along the way.

A must if you’re looking for something outside the urban area of Bogotá. - Trail: For me it was a hard one because of all the step-ups that were made to keep going, and also having to go down on these were a challenge for my knees. Having rained before we got there the rocky “stairs” were humid, but not so slippery—I wore running shoes. At places with lots of mud rocks were put to avoid stepping on this. Every path is well rotulated, has a barrier for support when needed and has employees across different stations. Guide: Our guide, Lifred (appears in the photos I uploaded), kept a good pace for our group and waited for us when we needed a break. He always offered himself to take our pictures and showed interest in our desire to learn about Colombia. Food: Both the breakfast and lunch were great! There were some snacks and water provided for the trail as well. Tips: • Sunscreen if your tour is during a sunny day. Bug repellant wasn’t that necessary. • Small umbrella if it rains. • A lot of curves going up during the ride. Either sit next to the driver or carry a bag if you get sick.

Tour for the prepared - My husband and I really enjoyed this route, the wonderful nature and the cool guide, we got high, tasted the national cakes. But it was very difficult to go, this tour is clearly not for children and the elderly. It was even hard for me plus mountain sickness.

Fun Scenic Local Hike - We walked to a close by spot for breakfast and took a van ride to the trailhead. The hike had a few challenging spots but I would rank it moderate and is not as strenuous as a Colorado 14er. I felt safe the entire time and we ended the hike with a delicious mojito at a local vendor’s spot.
