Mountaineers Meeting Point - We meet you at the meeting point and drive you to our cabin by the glacier. From there we give you all the necessary gear required to participate in the snowmobiling activity. Then we give a short introduction on how to operate the snowmobiles and safety issues you need to be aware of.
Then we go out snowmobiling to the glacier for one hour. We stop for photos and to enjoy the view once during the trip.
After that, we take you back to the meeting point.
Best to be there 15-20 minutes before the departure time.

Additional Information
This 4-hour snowmobile journey takes you through the distinct landscapes of the Icelandic Highlands. It begins at Gullfoss and allows you to experience the unique Icelandic vistas on your drive to the glacier in a 4x4 monster truck. Following a short instructional briefing, you’ll mount your snowmobile and traverse the length and breadth of Langjökull glacier. This excursion is an excellent addition for self-guided travellers exploring the Golden Circle and seeking to enrich their expedition.
- Dress accordingly to weather conditions.
- Age limit is 6 years and older.
- Please note the price is per person and there are 2 passengers per snowmobile.
- Please Note: There must be 1 adult per child or teenager in order to be able to join our tour.

Really fun highlight... - Absolutely great experience, a real highlight of our trip to Iceland. A long bus ride from Gulfoss, but very rewarding. All kit supplied, very safe, and a lot of fun. The snowmobiles are kept in good order and the instructions are simple. Led out on new snow, probably 45 mins driving with a stop in the middle to recover your adrenaline levels. We went on a very sunny day which made it even more exhilarating. Would do again in a heartbeat.

Awesome. - I used to own and ride my own sled. This was a great tour as we really got to ride, but they also helped and taught the new riders. The guides were exceptional. Thank you.

Beautiful adventure - A snowmobile ride on a glacier is a fun experience. From Gullfoss by bus to base camp, wearing warm clothes and then riding an hour on a snowmobile over a glacier. Fun, exciting, quite difficult steering and definitely recommended.

Highlight of the Golden Circle - The tour staff very helpful and friendly. We did have nice weather. The ride out is long however wasn’t uncomfortable. Some beautiful scenery! The 3 snowmobile guides at 1400 on Friday June 7 were all excellent!!! It was so beautiful and exhilarating!! It is as people say but I got up to 45. Highlight of our Golden Circle time!! Thank you Mountaineers of Iceland - also Einar was very understanding and helpful!!

Major Iceland Adventure - It was an awesome adventure. I can’t say I ever thought I would get a chance to snowboard on a glacier! It was sooo cold but the tour guides make sure you stay warm with appropriate gear. The ride up to the glacier was part of the fun in their crazy off-road monster truck! It is something we won’t forget.

Very cool and funny trip - The whole trip was an unforgettable experience. Not only the snowmobile-tour, but already the transfer in the offroad-bus to the basecamp on the glacier. All the guides did a great job, so that everyone had a great time during the trip.

Fun adventure! - Fun family activity. Our children in their 20s enjoyed it and it would be perfect for those with teens too. Exhilarating views. They gave us very warm suits to go over other warm layers and we stayed surprisingly cozy. The gloves weren’t so warm. If you bring ski gloves you can use your own (or bring liners or hand warmers). We rode in pairs and there was a guide in the front and back to help with any issues that came up.

We enjoyed the... - We enjoyed the snowmobiling bit did not enjoy the ride up with all the dust (air quality was poor). Also liked the tour but did not enjoy the size of the tour!

Great adventure - Exhilarating, great fun and a little bit nerve racking. The only thing that would have made it better for my 12 year old would be for him to have been a driver himself. He'll have to come back in a few years!
