Fun Snowmobiling in Iceland - Even though I was hesitant at first I’m glad I went. There is a bus ride up to the meeting point where you can hear up with a snowsuit and necessary accessories. We were nice and warm while riding. The break mid ride was worth it for the amazing views and once in a lifetime photos.

This was a great tour.... - This was a great tour. Guides and staff were helpful and friendly. Glacier experience was great and pretty to see. Just note this is a 4 hour trip. A 40 min bus ride to the glacier, get suited up, ride the snow mobile for about an hour and then return the suits and then the bus ride back.

Like a snowmobile ride on Planet Hoth - Truly spectacular adventure. VERY expensive, but it was a once in a lifetime thing, we still talk about it. Was so much fun and the scenery was literally like being on another planet. VERY cold...if you have kids with you make sure to put hand warmers in their boots and gloves. Our 12 year old girl got uncomfortably cold. But just an other worldly adventure, highly recommend

You’ll have the best time!!! - This review is for anyone who really wants to do this tour but hesitates because they’re scared: I had what can only be described as a morbid phobia of snowmobiling on a glacier. I was genuinely convinced it would be the end of me, because I was going to fall into a crevasse or get lost and have to survive on the glacier for three weeks or disappear forever. I was so terrified I literally couldn’t sleep the night before and I showed up to the tour like I was preparing for a survival documentary: I had fluorescent emergency sticks, two whistles, emergency drinking water and emergency blankets in my pockets (yes you can laugh at me). And guess what? it turned out to be the BEST experiences of my life! The team at Mountaineers of Iceland is absolutely incredible. Every single one of them. From the moment we met them, they gave us the best vibe! They are so kind, reassuring, patient and focused on safety. Before the tour starts, they take the time to explain how the snowmobiles work, what to do, what not to do and how to drive safely. And once you’re on the snowmobiles, wow!!!! The views are out of this world! The landscape is insane! You drive and you have the glacier in front of you, this image will forever stays stuck in my mind! And the entire ride feels super safe, because the guides are constantly keepinng an eye on the group, you’ll never be left behind and they constantly check that everyone’s okay, and the whole route is organized and secure. So if you’re scared like I was (though let’s be honest, I doubt anyone is THAT scared 😂), please don’t let fear stop you! I was probably the most dramatic person they’ve ever had on a tour, and now I can’t wait to do it again! Because yes, now I’m dreaming of doing it again, it was the most wonderful experience and it’s so worth it! Don’t miss it just because you’re nervous, trust the guides and enjoy every second of it! We couldn’t wish for better guides, they are amazing! Thank you to the wonderful team at Montaineers of Iceland for turning my fear into a memory I’ll never forget! I’ll definitely be back, just with no emergency items in my pockets next time 😅

a lifetime experience 💙 - It was our very first time on a snowmobile, so we were half excited, half terrified 😅 but honestly, the guides were absolutely adorable from start to finish. Everything was clearly explained, and they made sure we felt safe the entire time. They’re super reassuring, careful, patient and they look after everyone, so there’s really no reason to worry. We did lose about 1000 aura points tho when our snowmobile tipped over, which was our worst nightmare 😭, but the guides weren’t annoyed at all and on the contrary, they were just making sure we were okay, not frustrated, just sweet. One of them also let us take a photo on his own snowmobile, so the background would be clear without all the others parked in the way, which was such a thoughtful gesture. And they were out there starting snowball fights with guests, creating such a fun vibe. Honestly, every single one of them was patient, kind, and super cool! We absolutely loved it, it’s definitely something you should do at least once in your life. Riding across the snow with the glacier right in front of you is an indescribable feeling. There is no words. These are the kind of memories that stay with you forever and we will never forget this amazing experience! Huge thank you to the entire Montaineers of Iceland team, you’re amazing! ❄️🫶

Embarrassing - Groups that are too large and badly managed. It is not possible to organize a tour with 60 people (and therefore 60 snowmobiles) managed by only 3 guides. Result: continuous stops to wait for the rest of the group, snowmobiles flipped every 2 minutes, the guide who ran our rhythmic group of 20 people abandoned us in the middle of nowhere to go find the rest of the group and came back 10 minutes. Absolute misorganization. The kids seemed to be annoyed by customers, they don't explain the rules enough and they don't care about customers. Also the tour stopped before arriving on the glacier, so we didn't even see it. In short, the team should make radical changes to the whole organization because it is certainly an experience that must be paid for a lot but it is right to offer an adequate service. This is a disgrace.

One of the worst tours in iceland - So i will start by saying that i am a tour guide, and i did this trip today for the 10th time probably, and every time i went here was a disappointment. With this, today was an amazing weather day, but we had a group of almost 60 people, wich went terribly, sleds flipping constantly and people going out of the track, plus some problems with 1 or 2 snowmobiles that made us wait almost 20 min in a line. Basically in the tour we drove for 20 min max total trip. We departured from gullfoss a few minutes after 2pm ( so pretty much in time) and we got back at almost 8pm. So a full day to drive 20 min and stay seated on the machines waiting for the rest of the time. The bus is old and crappy, not any kind of ventilation so looked more like a sauna than anything else, and to make it "better" after you have the overalls and the gear there is still another 20 min drive to the glacier with a full bus of people boiling inside. The snow condition was bad, but normal during the summer i would say, but the track starts in a place where there is barely any snow/ice. I felt comfortable with that, but could recognize that was a difficult path for a beginner having his first impression in a snowmobile. Bad organization and bad tour in general. I advise everyone to not book this tour, and i advise the company to not be so greedy with the money and invest on important things and maybe hire more guides, as they were definitely needed in this tour.
