Excellent trip - Excellent trip, beautiful landscape and very resourceful tour to all the city landmarks. Even though the traffic was awful in Bishkek, as usual, Faruk did his best to make our trip most enjoyable. Definitely recommend

Visit to Bishkek April 2025 - Amazing countryside and Ala Archa National Park. It was raining but we managed to took some pictures when the fog cleared. Anver our guide was patient and explained everything in detail. From the types of animals that can be found in the park and all the trekking trails. We also feed the squirrel and bird with melon seeds that was provided by Anver. It was fun. Anver is very knowledgeable about the different sites we visited in the city. Thanks for the memories.

Ala Archa Portion Great! City Tour Portion Very Very Bad. - So this is really a tale of two tours. The Ala Archa part of the day was quite good, the city tour was quite bad. Let me break it all down for you. The first stop was Ala Archa national park, and I'd give that half of the tour probably 5/5 stars. Ala Archa is far enough away from the city center that you really benefit from having a driver/guide. It's stunning, a must-visit while in Bishkek. We did a full hike which was quite steep and challenging but still very rewarding. I did feel like the guide pushed the pace way too much on the hike and for safety should have moved at the pace of the slowest person (which was me. Heh.) However! I wasn't upset with that at the time. I made it to the top. It was beautiful. Can't complain about the portion at the Park. And then. The city tour portion happened. Oof. I love cities. I've gone on Walking Tours in cities all around the world. Probably 50 or more of them. The amount of information and context you usually get on tours like this is amazing, and that knowledge colors the whole experience of your trip. This was SO not that. The city portion of the tour was 0/5 stars. We literally power-walked at MAX speed through a few key Bishkek locations. We stopped and got a piece of information like only two or three times. The rest of the time? Clearly the guide was just trying to get this thing over with as quickly as possible. I literally pulled over for a couple seconds at one point to take photos/videos of the things we were seeing in Bishkek (you know, the whole point of taking a tour? Seeing the sights?) and the guide was like "come on come on!" Like hurrying me along so we could keep absolutely FLYING through the sights that I paid to see on this tour. The Osh Bazaar was the worst part. The market was very busy, and I felt like I was giving it my all just to make sure I didn't lose track of the guide as he power walked far ahead of us. Forget strolling along, looking at the merchandise like you do at a Bazaar, forget enjoying the experience, I just didn't want to get lost. Terrible experience. With the very small amount of contextual information about Bishkek we actually received, the city part of the tour was not only NOT worth it... I actually felt frustrated that I booked it. I don't need an escort to just drive me to a couple places within the city and rush me along. If I just wanted to visit these places with no added information I could have booked a cab to take me to the market or the square, taken my time, and enjoyed it at my own pace. I booked it because I wanted HISTORY, you know, a tour guide. I wanted time to actually stop and see the locations. Instead I felt like the places I visited were spoiled for me because I was just upset that we were merely power walking from place to place the whole time. Side note: Besides ALL THAT we were told that we couldn't visit the Mosque because we weren't appropriately dressed. Which would be 100% reasonable... except for the fact that they hadn't communicated that to us at all beforehand so there was no way we could have prepared for it. A simple message the night before would have at least given us the choice to dress with long pants or not. Nope. Just didn't get to go. Look, it was a very very hot day in the city. I get why the guide might have wanted it to be finished with work ASAP. But the heat is why it's even more important to move slowly... to keep a calm pace. Take breaks. Drink water. NOT running at max speed from place to place. It wasn't just a bad tour, it was dangerous and irresponsible. I'm going to round up the 2.5 average and give this 3 stars for the sake of the first part of the tour. Which was solid. But if you're more interested in the city portion (like I was) I think you would be much better off to book elsewhere or to just visit these places on your own because this was really rough.
