Join our Basque culinary workshop to learn the art of making authentic pintxos and tapas from the Basque region. Guided by a local Basque cook, you’ll delve into the region’s unique ingredients and flavors, their origins, and the local custom of savoring these tasty treats.
Start off with an introduction from your guide and chef for the day, who will acquaint you with the ingredients integral to traditional northern Spanish gastronomy.
It’s now time to get hands-on. Under the careful supervision of the chef, you’ll mix, stir, cut and combine ingredients to prepare the dishes. Complement your cooking experience with a glass of wine from the open bar.
To conclude, witness your hard work take shape in the form of 4 unique pintxos plated for your indulgence. Enjoy tasting each, coupled with your wine. A bonus cheese and charcuterie board, and a dessert are added to ensure a full-course culinary experience.

Excellent Cooking Class! - This was such a fun class! There were just four of us and we really enjoyed the time with Mikel. He was funny and engaging and informative, and the food was delicious! The kitchen is brand new and beautiful, And we were given aprons to take home as a keepsake. Such a fun way to learn about the basque region and pintxos. A great way to spend an early evening in Bilbao.

Great Cooking Class in Bilbao - We had so much fun in this small cooking class! We were treated to wine and appetizers as soon as we arrived which we enjoyed together while Mikal entertained us with helpful information about Bilbao, the Basque region, and the tradition of eating pintxos. We then cooked several pintxos in the beautiful new kitchen (sporting the red Gastronomia aprons that we were able to take home as a keepsake). When we finished cooking, we sat down together with more wine to chat and enjoy the pintxos that we just made! It was a really fun evening with new friends and new skills and I highly recommend the experience!

Brilliant Basque Bites - Brilliant evening with Mikel who was patient, funny and very knowledgeable - loved learning how to cook some Pintxos and even some new cooking tips generally. Finished with some great tastes, lovely wine and great memories. Would thoroughly recommend.

Basque cooking in Bilbao - Had a great evening at Gastronomia Bilbao. Mikel takes us through the preparation of some pinxtos. He talks about his career and his passion for cooking in a fun way. Delicious wines are served while preparing and eating the dishes. We get the recipes to take home.

Worth repeating. If I ever visit Bilbao again I will definitely see if I can take another course/workshop. - It was very enjoyable and very educational. Mikel explained a lot and provided background information about the products used, very nice.

Must take this class in Bilbao!! - Book this class—you will not regret it! On a technical level, the chef has trained all over the world and is an excellent teacher. You’ll learn a lot, all the while feeling encouraged. I especially appreciated this because I’m not a very practiced cook.
It’s also FUN. The whole staff is great! Mikel, Josue, and Alex all made the experience wonderful. Great food, great wine, great vibes.
