Bring along any camera you have to take breath taking photographs from 100 yards away. Relax for a short snack break when you have a chance to because the whales always seem to know when the cameras are down. Its a three hour tour but packed full of action from start to finish.

Adhering to Hawaiian Marine Park regulations of maintaining at least 100 yards (90 meters) distance from these grand creatures, you get an up-close view of the traveling humpback whales. It’s not rare for them to exhibit curiosity about the raft and swim directly beneath it!

Captain Zodiac is located at 74-425 Kealakehe Parkway, suite #16. We are in the Honokohau Marina and small boat harbor located approximately 5 miles south of the Kona Airport and approximately 2 miles north of the town of Kailua-Kona. Meet at our office in the Gentry's Kona Marina parking lot.

Fantastic excursion - What an amazing day, Captain Rick and his first mate did an excellent job getting us to our site to snorkel. The whole trip was fantastic. Definitely the highlight of my and my wife’s excursions in Hawaii. My only complaint was his first mate. DeVante Made me laugh so hard that by the time we got back to Port, my side hurt.

Fantastic wHALE wATCHING eXPERIENCE - This was a fantastic experience for both myself and my wife. We saw whales in several locations along our approximately two hour ride and seeing them from a zodiac down close to the water is even more special...one even swam right under our zodiac! Our boat crew were very easy going, full of knowledge about the whales we saw and always looking out for our comfort (as best as possible...zodiacs give you a pretty wild ride!). This is truly a worth while experience...worth every dollar!

So fun!! - Took the grandparents and kids on the zodiac whale tour and it was so much fun! The kids said the boat felt like a rollercoaster and we saw 5 humpbacks!! The crew were great with our kiddos too! Highly recommend!

Heat Runs & Mama w/newborn spotted!! - Jason & Liz were excellent aboard the Interceptor! Their whale and ocean knowledge was top notch. The ride on a raft
Is what you want to get to the whales quickly. Jason asked everyone on the excursion if we had time commitments before he said-“Great let’s follow this ‘heat run’!” Experience of a lifetime!

Great tour company, great captain. - Sandy was a great captain! I always felt safe with her at the helm. We were lucky to see quite a bit of whale activity and she was always ready to describe what was happening. And she welcomed questions.

4 minute whale encounter - The crew was GREAT! Captain Rick was fantastic and really went the extra "miles" literally to provide us with a once in a lifetime whale encounter. We know our experience was not the norm because we had a humpback whale come right up to the boat and hung out with us for about four minutes. It was pure magic really special. Mahalo!

Humpbacks and hounds - It was a great day out on the water. We were told it would be rough, but I found it really a nice outing. The staff were attentive and friendly from the check in and throughout the day. Saw some whales thanks to the patients of our captain.
Best part of the day, hands down, the two petting dogs in the office. All business should follow this model.

Go whaling on the Black Pearl! - We saw whales, a Hawaiian Monk seal, and two kinds of dolphins. Listened to whales and porpoise with hydrophobic. Guides explained behaviors and were very caring. It was amazing. Highly recommend!
