Volcanic Tour and more - Very friendly staff. As it was my first time in a helicopter, I was glad that they took safety seriously. Instructions were very good. Toured the volcano area as much as we could. There was weather near the caldera so we couldn’t fly directly over it. However our pilot Jim gave us a good overview of the park and then took us to the river and the waterfalls. After that he took us along the coast. Highly recommend. My husband was thrilled.

Awesome! - Kilauea was actually erupting during our visit. There are no words to describe it. Check the Kilauea Update website and plan your visit around the next eruption. The park is an amazing place. There are so many interesting and beautiful sites...Chain of Crater Road with it's 19 miles of beautiful scenery, Thurston Lava Tube, Devastation Trail, Steam Vents, Sulfur Banks and endless lava everywhere. There is a Visitor Center with very helpful park rangers and programs throughout the day. There are many overlooks and pull-offs throughout the park to view the crater and other beautiful sights.

4th Time! - Our 4th time with Safari and it was good as ever. Our pilot Jim was great. Stephanie at checkin was superb as well. Each island is different so even if you’ve done a flight on another island, do it on every island. Helicopters are clean and comfy. Just be sure you all wear dark colors so you do t get awful glares from bright colors in your pictures

Helicopter ride - The helicopter ride was very smooth. I am afraid of heights but for some reason I did not have that feeling while being inside the helicopter. The pilot was giving a lot of info on the island and what we were seen which is always nice. The only downside is that everything is much further away than you expect. We did see the kilauea smoking but no active lava flowing during our trip which was 3/5/25.

We saw a lot of clouds. ... - We saw a lot of clouds. They should have cancelled the trip knowing the lack of visibility. We never got to Volcano Park.

Be aware it might be better to book an early flight - Staff were really nice but sadly the flight was cancelled with only 10 minutes to go because of safety concerns due to incoming bad weather - heavy clouds which were causing visibility problems. Flight was booked for 11. 20 am, wish we’d booked it earlier as found out there is less risk of heavy clouds. Staff were happy to rebook for the next day but we were on a cruise so couldn’t do it , so they said they’d give a full refund. We were just very disappointed to have missed it.

Viator customer service and IT fail - I booked the helicopter tour of the Hawaiian Volcano for two people, following the directions on the website regarding entering the weight of the passengers. Upon arrival, I was informed that only one of us could fly due to an error one Viator website encountered when entering weights in kilograms, instead of pounds. Trying to contact Viator online to request a refund proved impossible due to the seemingly deliberate flaws in the design of their feedback form. The flight itself was incredible. Safari Helicopters 5 stars. Viator customer service and IT, zero stars.

Disappointed - I'm so disappointed in booking this tour thinking it was out of Kona. Had trouble getting reservation details to show and had to leave with group. When info finally came through, saw it was out of Hilo. When tried booking, was already within the 24 hour timeframe. Have used Viator many times this trip, so used credit dollars. So not only lost tour fee but Viator credit dollars!! Left message as soon as confirmation came through that Hilo location would not work. We were 10 minutes late to Volcano VC. So wanted to see erupting volcano. I'm a 19 year NPS retiree and try to visit all NPS sites. So disappointed.
