Fantastic and Easy Experience! - Highly recommend using Hawaiian Oceanic for this excursion! The location we met and departed from was so close to the location for viewing the Mantas that a boat was barely needed (took less than 5 mins until we were in the water. Setup with the floating board and light made ie easy. The staff, from greeter, captain, and in-water guide were fantastic.

Do it! - We booked the first time slot for the evening and I think that was beneficial No waiting around in the dark for a boat to come back in. There were multiple companies running people out to see the rays. So glad we booked a “small group excursion” There were 10 of us. Looked like some boats had 50+

Don’t miss the chance to do this tour! - An amazing once in a lifetime experience! Several friends told us the manta ray nighttime snorkel was a must-do on the Big Island, and they were right! After a very short boat ride, we got off the boat and immediately there were huge manta rays swimming right underneath us! We had an amazing experience; about 11 manta rays just putting on a show for us. 50 minutes was just right. We got tired of holding our arms out straight after a while. I can’t imagine the tours that take 3-4 hours. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative, though personally I had trouble listening and watching the manta rays at the same time.

One of the most magical experiences ever! - This was incredible and unbelievable! I was skeptical when I first saw it on social media, but we saw so many mantas and so close! The guides did an amazing job with the safety briefing (for the mantas especially) and also did a fantastic job telling us all about these amazing creatures while we were out there. Truly a phenomenal experience to see such beautiful animals like this (ngl there was a lot of joyful squealing through my snorkel mask)!

It really was a magical experience - This was an incredible not to be missed experience. I understand that we were particularly lucky with the number of mantas that we saw and it was magical. So graceful, so huge and they came so close to us. I’d recommend the twilight option as we got to see the sunset and the beautiful orange glows after, which just made it even more incredible. You need to be comfortable with a very close encounter with this beautiful animal but do t need to be a string swimmer just have the nerve to be suspended over fairly deep sea; you’ll be so amazed though that you probably won’t care. The crew of Christine, Justin, Sara and Shane were great. Welcoming, reassuring and Sara was so knowledgable. This tour was particularly great compared to others as it was a smaller number of people. Thanks for a great experience.

Hawaii Oceanic was one of... - Hawaii Oceanic was one of four eco friendly tours and recommended night snorkel tour operators. We had an amazing small group experience with operators that know and care about the manta rays.
