Keeping it real - Great to learn about the local culture and truly a wonderful experience. The whole ceremony made me feel like I was back when the earlier settlers arrived in Hawaii. Great storytelling, dancing and singing.

Great luau! Show is energenic and colorful. Buffet is OK. - The great Hawaiian King and his court travels to the luau site from a canoe in the bay. This is not a “show” but a colorful look into Hawaiian culture. The dancers are professional and wear different garb each time they come out. The “show” has a great MC who sings, goes into Hawaiian culture in depth and overall keeps the “show” moving! The band adds to the enjoyment. As you enter the Luau grounds pictures are taken and a hostess guides you to a table. As soon as you are seated, you can go to the buffet area where the menu should have something for everyone. I did not try the poi but they have it!!! After you eat, the show starts with the entrance of the Hawaiian King from a canoe on the bay! While this luau is a little pricey, you will never see a luau like this. I recommend it highly,

Luau Good/Front Desk Poor - The staff at the event were great. But as I was walking the distance to the front of the hotel I had to use the restroom. I asked the front desk if I could use the restroom. She told me I needed a room key. I told her I was just at the Luau and I really need to go. She just stated I could go back to the Luau. I’m 51 yrs old and I would not make the trip all the way to the back. I spend $1,400 you’d think it wouldn’t be an issue to let me use the lobby restroom. Poor customer service. I won’t return for the Luau or to stay at this hotel.

Not worth the money! - This event is overpriced. The food is okay but the open bar is limited. The performance was on a stage. I expected it to be more immersive. I wanted to participate versus watch a show. It was pretty boring. The fire guy was cool. Onlookers can watch the entire show for free from the beach.

Low energy show and mediocre food, would not recommend - I’ve attended several luaus over the years and the overall feeling from this one was “sleepy”. The food was fine but for the pricetag ($540 for three of us) it was bland and underwhelming. The dessert cakes were all the same with just different flavors of fillings. Nice that they include alcohol though. Service was almost non existent and we got not sense of excitement or Aloha from the staff. We arrived 15 min after opening and had bad seats in the back, difficult to see the stage. The music and dances were pretty low energy, except the one fire dancer was good of course. There’s a 6 piece band but some of the music was pre-recorded. I’ve really enjoyed loud drums at previous experiences. The hostess of the evening was gracious but lacked much showmanship and, again, the show felt sleepy. Other tourists were able to watch the show from the Marriott beach.
