Unique class with great information and delicious food - We had a terrific time touring the community farm, enjoying some superb coffee brewed by a real expert, and especially cooking with vegetables, herbs, and greens that we picked ourselves. Aidan, our guide and chef, was a font of interesting information about farming, plants, local activities, and of course cooking. We started by making our own chili oil with spices and herbs, then made an adaptation of tom kha soup with forbidden rice and loads of vegetables. It was full of complex flavors and absolutely delicious. I think everyone in the class had seconds. Along with everything else, we had a chance to take a short hike on the grounds to a lovely lush waterfall. This was truly a unique experience. Thank you to Aidan and everyone else we met, all of whom were lovely.

Great customer service, beautiful place! - We did the farm to table tour and cooking class and it was amazing! Learned so much and met awesome people. Later we walked through the bamboo forest and to the waterfall which was spectacular. I had an issue with my car while there and Christophe, the property owner, went above and beyond to get it taken care of while we enjoyed our activity. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing Unique Big Island Experience - We spent a beautiful morning touring the farm and then made lunch in a gorgeous refurbished barn. (They have a first class kitchen on second floor of barn, with breathtaking views of the ocean.) We foraging on the farm for lunch ingredients, fed the goats, ate the freshest bananas right off the tree, and sampled some of the best coffee. The farm is on the grounds of the Inn at Kulaniapia Falls, where you can walk through gorgeous bamboo gardens and right up to a breathtaking waterfall. This is a unique experience that we highly recommend.

Wonderful time on the farm - Absolutely wonderful morning touring the farm and making a delicious meal with the Kulaniapia Community! Going through the process of taking ingredients strait from the ground and following the entire process makes you appreciate a meal so much more. Aiden and David also do a great job and really help add to the experience

Not Worth the Money - I hate leaving meh reviews, but sadly this experience is just not worth the cost. The experience is not really a class- it’s more you pick ingredients from the farm and help prep the food for the host to cook. Overall, we spent about an hour cooking, while the rest of the day was other stuff (coffee, coconuts, etc.). That said, Ben and Hut were wonderful and fun to interact with! The farm is beautiful, and the experience was overall pleasant. Just not worth it for the steep price tag.

Nice Experience, Not Worth the Price - I came with my family of 4 adults. We were the only party, just us and our tour guide. Our tour guide took us up to check out the chickens and the farm. It was kind of sparse of harvestable items, perhaps because of time of year. Our guide was very new to the farm and very new to hawaii. So, she didn’t have a lot of knowledge to offer about the property or the farming processes. We went up to the barn where there are more fruit trees to pick from outside and the kitchen is on the top floor. Some ingredients we used were not actually from the Kulaniapia Farm but from a farmers market the day before. We made salsa, chips, tortillas, roasted vegetables, collard greens, and a limeade. Not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination, but a good humble kind of meal. This experience was nice but definitely not worth the price.
