Emotional trip for an Irish Person - As I am an Irish person it was an emotional trip. Our guide was very professional, informative and very friendly. While the trip is 6 hours, the time went so fast, with so much to see. I would recommend to check the weather for the area, as most of the journey is outdoors. Anybody interested in Irish Famine history, this is the place to go to.

Fabulous Tour - The Cruise - smooth and friendly dealing with the ticket office at the port. Unfortunately, the captain/cruise ship's spokesperson was not informed there were Anglophones on the cruise. He shared quite a few things in French that were well received by the francophones. The Visit of Grosse-Ile was so well organized, so informative and the site itself is so well set up and maintained. However, the staff /tour guides on the island were exceptional. They delivered our tour in English. Initially we worried that the length of time on the Island would be too long. Upon the end of tour, we wished we could have had more time. Due to all the information we received from the excellent guides we had such a better understanding of what took place on Grosse-Ile and why. We also had so many questions to research as we learnt quite a bit about so many different topic! Great day as we had terrifically friendly and well informed park guides! Well worth the time and the cost.
