Sachsenhausen Tour in Berlin: Experience a unique, detailed excursion to Sachsenhausen with us on this exclusive tour event! It is known as Birchy’s Berlin’s Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Tour. Serving as major tools of terror in the Nazi regime, concentration camps played a pivotal role, and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp stood out in its uniqueness. Being the Third Reich’s first purpose-built concentration camp and also the nearest one to Berlin, the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp holds a distinct place. It’s among the most frequented World War Two concentration camps globally.
This comprehensive tour provides you a complete insight into the Memorial Camp. It commences in Berlin City Center, where you’d meet your guide, Aaron. We then embark on a brief train journey to the Sachsenhausen Camp Memorial.
Aaron, holder of an Official Certified Sachsenhausen Tour Guide License for several years, has participated in various courses and imparted training to other Berlin Guides. His exceptional knowledge and profound understanding of Sachsenhausen set this tour apart.
Either Birchy or one of our seasoned guides will accompany you on a public tour as we move northwards from Berlin to visit Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, located closest to the Third Reich’s capital.
We will delve into how the concentration camps evolved from makeshift prisons into purpose-built facilities. We will probe into the myriad functions, atrocities, experiments, slayings, and mass homicides that took place within (and occasionally outside) the camp boundaries, from summer 1936 until its liberation in late April 1945.
We will consider the shift in the prisoner demographic before and during the Second World War.
