Best to develop a list of the locations you want to visit, them match them to the stops along the two routes. - The different BERLIN Hop-On Hop-Off bus companies pretty much cover the same route, so pick the one that is closest to your hotel. We went with City Sightseeing because we could pick it up in front the KaDeWe luxury department store. It has two routes: the Red Route covers the most famous museums and sites near central Berlin. The Green Route ventures further into East Berlin. We bought a two day, dual route ticket so that we could cover all the important sights. Would be nice if the buses would coordinate the timing of transferring from the red to green routes and vice versa. Best to develop a list of the locations you want to visit, them match them to the stops along the two routes. Also, it takes approximately 2 1/2 hours for the bus to make a full circle of the route. Therefore, plan accordingly. You will not be able to visit all the sites on the route in one or two days. Therefore, be selective with your itinerary. Should the bus not pass near your one of your destinations, you may want to reserve a day or two using the Berlin transit system app (VBB.DE). As an example, we used the app to visit the German/Russian Museum (surrender of Nazi Germany) and Stasi Museum (Secret Police) via the transit system which are not on the bus routes. Don't be hesitant, the Berlin system is far, far superior to anything in the USA.

Seeing Berlin - It is a great way to get an overview of the city. We did it early in the AM when traffic wasn’t too bad. We bought a 48 hour pass and did the hopping off and the second day. We had two different lines we did. The only issue we had was with the audio on one of the buses. The audio connection is very sensitive and it kept going in and out.

Good initiation to Berlin - It’s a great way to get your bearings around Berlin. We only hopped off at the East Side Gallery and Brandenburg Gate, but interesting to get an oversight and see if there was anything we wanted to revisit.

Great coverage of the city - Great coverage of the city but too many long stops for no apparent reason, long waits for next bus. There should be better consistency in timing

Wasn't expecting much after looking at the reviews - We experienced a good flow of buses (the app is really useful). Both routes are good and you see alot plus a useful way to get around a large city. Commentary is s bit irritating- some mock conversations - but it did say enough and had some good recommendations of places to see buried in it.

Not the city for a hop on/off tour with this company - I’ve used this same company for hop-on, hop-off bus tours in about 6 cities now. This was not a good experience. We arrived in Berlin at the main train station, and despite looking at the map location and asking around, we couldn’t find the busses. Took at Uber to the Brandonburg Tor where we did find a sales rep. Turns out, Berlin doesn’t permit the bus companies to post signs where the stops are. We got tickets and the sales rep suggested I download the app. Took the bus to a few different stops. My main issues were: 1) the app had maps to show the locations of the stops and where the buses are, but some of the stops were not at the location marked on the app (eg they were across the street, down the street, etc- leaving us running to catch the bus multiple times) and the buses were not where the app showed them to be. 2) some tourists from Asia ahead of us asked a driver to confirm which stop we were at and the driver wouldn’t answer them. I then asked, and he answered. The bus was stopped but he wouldn’t open the doors until I asked him specifically to open the doors to let us out. This was not a good experience.

Terrible experience waiting forever for busses to arrive. Every competitor much more frequent. - Don't use this service. They promise a bus every 20-25 minutes. Waited 45 minutes. Four grayline came in meantime. Use them!!

Do not buy online, processing system presents error and charges inappropriately on your card. - I made the purchase through the website using my mobile phone, made a mistake in my purchase, opened a complaint with the company and the cartoon used and never received the tickets. The page ap process the purchase closed, 3 tickets in the value of 82,50 were charged. I ended up buying the tickets again at the bus door and I talked to the person in charge via email who even answered me but after sending the information for refund did not return me anymore. I felt hurt by a basic system error.
