Known as the most famous Berlin Wall crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War (1947–1991). Visitors can explore the Wall Museum to learn about Berlin’s history and the former GDR.

7. Gendarmenmarkt
A renowned square in Berlin featuring the Berlin concert hall and the French and German Churches. At the center stands a grand statue of poet Friedrich Schiller. Originally created by Johann Arnold Nering at the end of the 17th century as the Linden-Markt, it was redesigned by Georg Christian Unger in 1773. The square is named after the cuirassier regiment Gens d’Armes, which had stables there until 1773.
