Excellent - The guide was excellent, linking street art to recent history of Berlin. He showed a real in-depth understanding of the area. We had been worried 3 hours was too much but it flew by.

Excellent insights and fun tour. - Fantastic tour. Jake, our guide, was extremely informative and interesting. Gave us a real insight into Berlin and also helped us get our bearings a bit on our first visit. Would highly recommend. Even our 15 yo daughter enjoyed it!

Interesting tour outside the beaten-path - I really loved this tour! I would like to see something else, than the known sights in Berlin, as I have seen them before, so I booked a "Off-the-beaten-path tour" which is a 3 hour walking tour in the Mitte, Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain area. Our guide Lee was very knowledgeable, and I learned a lot about the history of Berlin that I did not know beforehand. He also told a lot of short storys of people and places, that I find very interesting. I absolutely recommend this tour to everyone! PS: wear good shoes!

Alternative Berlin Tour - Cole was an amazing tour guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to make sure everyone got what they wanted out of the tour. We got to see interesting parts of Berlin we wouldn’t have found on our own.

Splendid introduction to Berlin street art - Magnificent dive into the richness of Berlin street art. Visit to the heart of the city's soul and the spirit that makes its pulse beat. The guide is himself part of the Berlin art scene, and his insights are full of passion.

great walking tour - I wish i could remember the tour guides name, she was great. I also wish i took this tour on my first day i arrived as they give you great tips on neighborhoods, shopping, where to see music, and restuarants. Unfortunately saved it for the last day. I will have to go back!

Great - very interesting tour! - Fantastic (american) guide with really good knowledge of Berlin. Artist himself, living in Berlin for years now, he could explain all about the scene of art, music, young culture and underground.

A great time - A really fun and informative tour led by a super knowledgeable guide. This tour gives you a bit of Berlin’s complex history from all the post-war eras, I felt like I was getting to see a very lived-in slice of the city which I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Would highly recommend.

Great alternative tour - Great tour led by Reece. Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the alternative scene in Berlin. Dead Chicken Alley was fascinating. Kreutzberg was an area we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Good to see a different side of Berlin.

Street Art Tour GOOD, Real Berlin Tour BAD - My mom and I did 2 tours with Alternative Berlin Tours.
First, we did the Real Berlin Tour. This tour was boring and didn’t cover what was advertised. I wouldn’t recommend it. There were a lot of people on the tour so they split us into 2 groups with 2 different guides. First we were with Leo/Theo (unsure exactly what their name was), who spoke so softly that we could barely hear the tour at all. Because of this, we ended up moving to the other guide’s group, whose name I don’t know since we joined the tour late (he had a mohawk and a punk rock vibe). He spent an inordinate amount of time babbling about himself and his own experience living in Berlin. It was so pointless that we ended up leaving the tour at the break and walking around the neighborhood with Rick Steve’s self-guided walking tour instead.
Second, we did the Street Art Tour. Our guide was Susanna. We liked this tour, and after doing other tours and sight-seeing in Berlin focused on history, it was cool to do a tour that focused more on Berlin in the present. The art that we saw was interesting, and there was definitely a benefit in going with a guided tour vs. just walking around the area because it helped us notice things we wouldn’t otherwise have seen or understood. We appreciated that Susanna also made an effort to feature diverse artists (women, POC, artists from different countries, commissioned vs. illegal street art, etc.). Susanna was overall a great, lively, and engaging guide! Our only complaint about the tour is that it was extremely hot (90 degrees F), and everyone on the tour seemed to be suffering and trying to find shade, yet Susanna would regularly ask us to move to stand next to her in the sun at each stop. Also, instead of using the ticket we were instructed to bring on the tour, Susanna had us walk 15min in the full sun instead. In other weather this would have been no big deal, but since it was a very hot day, we ended the tour completely wiped out and drenched in sweat.
