Visitors can also find a quaint bakery and public restrooms here. The stop lasts for 15 minutes, with the next destination being a 15-minute drive away.
• Mørkhølsfossen - Explore the captivating Mørkhølsfossen waterfall, a hidden treasure in Tysse, Norway. This charming waterfall is a perfect stop on the way to the Hardangerfjord. Conveniently located off the main road, Mørkhølsfossen provides a peaceful retreat with its gentle cascades and tranquil environment.
• Fossen Bratte - Fossen Bratte, meaning steep waterfall, lives up to its name: The Eikedalselva River plunges down in a single 79-meter drop. • Steinsdalsfossen Waterfall - The Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund is a stunning sight. Visitors can walk behind it without getting wet. Formed in 1699 when the river changed course, Steinsdalsfossen stands approximately 50 meters tall. A path allows visitors to walk between the rock face and the water without getting wet, making it one of Norway’s most visited waterfalls. Tourist information and public restrooms are located at the car park. A short walk over an old stone arch bridge leads to the waterfall. A cozy café behind the bridge offers a chance to enjoy the sound of the stream. The stop here lasts just under 30 minutes, with a 10-minute drive to the next stop in Norheimsund.
• Norheimsund - Experience the charming town of Norheimsund, beautifully situated on the Hardangerfjord. Enjoy the scenic views and delightful atmosphere. Norheimsund features several restaurants and a small shopping center with a bistro. The stop here is about 45 minutes, providing ample time for a quick lunch break. The driver will indicate where the bus will depart later.
• Kvanndal - After a 40-minute drive along the Hardangerfjord, the journey reaches the ferry in Kvandal. The ferry departs at 2 p.m., with a 20-minute crossing. Bathrooms and a small kiosk are available on the ferry. The upper deck offers excellent photo opportunities, making it a memorable experience.
• Utne - The ferry arrives in Utne, a picturesque village on the Hardangerfjord. Utne retains its old-world charm with well-preserved streets and traditional wooden houses, offering a glimpse into a bygone era. Visitors can admire the stunning fjord views, the 300-year-old Utne Hotel, and the serene ambiance of this hidden gem.
• Herand - A stop is made in the village of Herand at a small marina, beautifully located on the Hardanger Fjord. A self-service kiosk and public restrooms are available. The journey to the ferry quay in Jondal takes only 15 minutes.
• Hardangerfjord - The drive from Utne to Jondal along road 550 is a scenic route along the Hardangerfjord. The 36 km distance takes about 35 minutes to cover. Photo stops will be made as weather and time allow.
• Jondal Municipality - The ferry from Jondal to Tørvikbygd departs precisely at 15:20. The crossing of the main arm of the Hardangerfjord includes bathrooms and a self-service café on the ferry. The upper car deck offers stunning photo opportunities. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.
• Tørvikbygd - At approximately 15:50, the ferry docks in Tørvikbygd. From here, the journey continues directly to Bergen.
• Bergen - The return to Bergen Tourist Information is expected at approximately 17:30.
