Bergamo is a stunning city located a short distance from Milan: a cable car ride brings us up to Bergamo’s medieval upper town, nestled in a scenic valley. We will journey to the historic city center and encounter the following:
1)The Bergamo cathedral, showcasing architecture spanning from the 13th to the 16th centuries, houses notable works by Lorenzo Lotto and other renowned Italian 16th-century artists, along with a selection of tapestries as examples of the ‘Barocco’ stylistic movement.
2)We will immerse ourselves in the grandeur of the Captain Colleoni chapel, a magnificent 16th-century mausoleum and chapel which was commissioned by Captain Colleoni to commemorate his influence.
3)We will ascend to the archaic city tower for sweeping views of Bergamo’s valley landscapes.
4)Our path leads us to the city castle, a 15th-century fortress with panoramic surroundings.
5)We will inspect intricate 13th-century frescos within another esteemed church.
