• La Citta Alta - Bergamo is a town divided into two sections: Bergamo Alta (“the high town”) and Bergamo Bassa (“the low town”), linked by a historic cable car. In the heart of Bergamo Alta, dishes have been chosen to reflect the region’s culinary heritage: from traditional farmers’ meals to richly prepared meats, and even gelato stracciatella, which originated here.

Accompanied by a local Foodie, participants will follow a secret itinerary within the Città Alta walls, discovering bold flavors and delicate aromas, from the roots of Lombard cuisine to the modern Bergamo food scene.

• Palazzo e Giardini Moroni - Fondazione Museo di Palazzo Moroni - The tour begins with a classic aperitivo, featuring toasted bread slices topped with a variety of local garnishes. Each bite is perfectly paired with a glass of Valcalepio red wine, allowing participants to savor the rich flavors of the region and set the tone for the culinary journey ahead.
• Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore - Next, the tour moves to the second stop. In one of Bergamo Alta’s most charming restaurants, participants will enjoy traditional casoncelli or Foiade, a classic Sunday dish of the local tradition, experiencing the authentic flavors that have been cherished in the region for generations.
• Piazza Vecchia - The tour continues past Piazza Vecchia to the next stop, where participants will taste the famous polenta with lard and cheese, a hearty and traditional dish that perfectly represents Bergamo’s rich culinary heritage.
• Viale delle Mura - Finally, participants will taste delicious ice cream, “stracciatella” flavor, and conclude with the inevitable end to every proper Italian meal: espresso coffee.
